  • Survey: Free shipping still drives e-commerce

    Online shoppers want multiple search options, a variety of payment options, and when it comes to shipping and returns, “free” is a driving factor to complete the sale, according to a new survey.

    The UPS Pulse of the Online Study conducted with comScore Inc. reports that U.S. online shoppers are open to new trends on social media and in-store technologies, and make more purchases on tablets than any other market.

  • Publix, Aldi, H-E-B top Temkin Experience Ratings

    Waban, Mass. – Publix, Aldi and H-E-B share something besides all operating in the grocery sector. Based on a study of 10,000 U.S consumers, the three supermarket chains earned the highest scores in the 2015 Temkin Experience Ratings that ranks 293 companies across 20 industries.

    Joining those firms in the top 12 spots are retailers Chick-fil-A, PetSmart, Amazon.com, Trader Joe's, Papa John's, Walgreens, and Hannaford's.

  • Costco enters credit card agreements with Citi, Visa as it says farewell to AmEx

    Issaquah, Wash. - Costco Wholesale Corp. has entered into a new co-brand credit card program agreement with Citi and an acceptance and co-brand incentive agreement with Visa. Under the arrangements, Citi, an issuer of consumer credit cards, will become the exclusive issuer of Costco's co-brand credit cards and Visa will replace American Express as the credit card network for Costco in the U.S. and Puerto Rico beginning April 1, 2016.

    New York - For the upscale, 33-store Barneys New York, customer experience is everything. Affluent shoppers buying high-priced merchandise have certain expectations beyond the availability of quality items, regardless of channel they choose.

    “We want every customer to have an online experience personalized to their taste profile, preference and geography, just as we would do in our flagship stores,” Matthew Woolsey, executive VP of Barneys digital, told Chain Store Age.
