Facebook AI-enables key seller features on Marketplace
Facebook is streamlining the selling and shipping of items, as well as engaging customers, for sellers on its resale platform.
Facebook is introducing several Meta artificial intelligence-based features on Facebook Marketplace designed to make the resale of items faster and simpler. These include:
Automated listings
Sellers can now upload their item images and have Meta AI automatically create a draft listing by filling in details and suggesting a price based on similar items listed in the seller’s area.
Streamlined shipping
Sellers can generate prepaid shipping labels in a few clicks and use their Marketplace dashboard to keep track of every shipped order in one place.
Automated replies
When buyers ask about item availability, sellers can use Meta AI to draft and send an auto reply using information from their listing such as product description, availability, pickup location, and price. Sellers can enable, preview and edit auto replies during the listing creation process.
Seller profile summaries
Facebook is also introducing Meta AI-generated seller profile summaries. At the top of a seller’s Marketplace profile, buyers will now see a overview of the seller’s Facebook profile, including how long they have been on Facebook and their number of friends, as well as a brief summary of their Marketplace activity like their listing history, types of items they sell and seller ratings.

Facebook builds on recently added Marketplace features
These latest upgrades to Marketplace seller features come two months after Facebook introduced several new offerings in January 2026 as part of a "glow up" intended to evolve the Marketplace shopping and selling experience:
Improved checkout
Buyers see total costs of Marketplace purchases, including shipping and tax, upfront and receive notifications as order status changes.
Personalization
Shoppers can react and comment directly on Marketplace. When shoppers like an item, Marketplace will learn what they are interested in so they will see more items aligned with their preferences, making their shopping experience more personalized and relevant.
AI insights
Facebook is also testing a new feature designed to make it easier for shoppers to ask the right questions when making a purchase on Marketplace. When shoppers start a chat with a seller, they will see a "suggested questions to ask" button pop up. If they tap it, Meta AI will use the details from the listing and their conversation to suggest questions they might want to ask the seller.
In addition, Facebook is beginning to test a new AI-enabled feature intended to make buying cars easier and more informative. When shoppers visit a vehicle listing, they will see AI-based insights that can gather information such as engine options and safety ratings, as well as as transmission type, seating, cargo capacity, reviews, and price insights, all in one place.
