  • Pacific Sunwear, Demandware launch multichannel commerce solution

    BURLINGTON, Mass. — E-commerce solution-provider Demandware said Monday that Pacific Sunwear of California has launched Demandware’s multichannel commerce solution, powered by the Demandware Commerce platform, across its web, mobile and tablet channels as well as its brick-and-mortar stores.

    Pacific Sunwear replaced its legacy platform with the new cloud-based platform.

  • Burlington Coat’s Big Apple move

    When temperatures turn cooler this fall New Yorker’s will have a new Burlington Coat Factory store to satisfy their need for outerwear.

    The national off-price chain and operator of 482 stores opened its newest unit in New York’s Union Square on Friday. The 92,000-sq.-ft store is located at 14th Street and University Place is the company’s sixth New York location, which means Manhattan residents are already familiar with the Burlington, NJ-based company.

  • New Balance steps up e-commerce with Demandware

    BURLINGTON, Mass. — New Balance is engaging Demandware to power its new e-commerce sites for its New Balance, Warrior, Cobb Hill, Aravon and Dunham brands. New Balance plans to use Demandware to launch additional sites in new international markets and for other brands, including PF Flyers.

  • IKEA Canada adds interactive element to catalog

    Burlington, Ontario, Canada -- IKEA Canada announced Monday that its new catalog, debuting Aug. 13, has incorporated a host of interactive elements designed for smartphones and tablets.

    When holding a smartphone or tablet over a page, users are able to access films about IKEA products, experience 3D models, look behind closed doors with an X-ray function or change curtains and get creative.

    Users will access the bonus material by downloading the IKEA app to smartphones or tablets, or by visiting www.IKEA.ca.

  • City Sports to open 21st store, in Vermont

    Boston -- City Sports will open its 21st store, in Burlington, Vt., on May 6.

    The eco-conscious space—built utilizing reclaimed materials from previous stores—was designed to capture the spirit of the community. The existing ceiling was kept, and all lighting fixtures were replaced with energy-efficient bulbs.
