    Fort Worth, Texas -- A holiday social media program has earned RadioShack top honors in a national media award event.

    The retailer’s 2010 holiday social media program, supported by imc2 as RadioShack's social media agency, won in its category at the Fifth Annual Forrester Groundswell Awards.

  • Toys“R”Us holiday promo plans include retro ads and QR codes

    WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us holiday plans mix technology, QR codes and retro ads that speak to the company’s heritage.

    As part of its 2011 holiday advertising campaign, the chain will air a series of themed television commercials designed to showcase the company's toy expertise and its strengths as a specialty retailer. The commercials include two ads from its archives which celebrate the heritage of the brand. Another group of ads feature products exclusive to Toys“R”Us.

  • Winn-Dixie promotes Halloween, tailgate deals

    JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Winn-Dixie Stores announced that it is offering special bundles for tailgate, school or office parties, and for trick-or-treating to help customers get ready for Halloween. The grocer said it also is holding special pumpkin-decorating workshops for children this Saturday and Sunday afternoons at select stores. Any child visiting a Winn-Dixie store while wearing a Halloween costume on Saturday, Sunday or Monday will receive a fresh-baked cookie from the Winn-Dixie bakery.

  • Harlem Wine Gallery to open in NYC

    New York City -- Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group said Wednesday it has a arranged a long-term lease for The Harlem Wine Gallery at 752 Saint Nicholas Avenue, between 147th and 148th Streets in New York City.

    The transaction is the second wine and spirit shop that the team has arranged on the corridor in recent months, following Unity Wines & Spirits at 704 Saint Nicholas Avenue.
     
     

  • Bestbuy.com to offer free holiday shipping

    Minneapolis -- Best Buy Co. announced Tuesday that it will waive the minimum purchase limitations and offer free shipping on its complete inventory of 400,000 website items from Nov. 1 through Dec. 27.

    "Consumers are looking for value, service and savings this year, and our goal is to provide them with convenient, creative and less costly ways to make the holiday shopping experience more enjoyable," said Barry Judge, executive VP and CMO, in a statement.

  • TRU entices shoppers with 10% back rewards

    WAYNE, N.J. — Toys“R”Us announced it will once again offer 10% back on purchases made by new and current members of its loyalty program, Rewards“R”Us, this holiday season. Beginning Sunday, Oct. 30 through Christmas Eve, Rewards“R”Us members can earn 10% back in “R”Us Dollars for every dollar spent on qualifying purchases. “R”Us Dollars earned will be delivered to members via e-mail in January and can be used toward savings on future in-store purchases, the company said.
