  • Kroger extends partnership with USO

    CINCINNATI — Kroger said it is kicking off a year-long initiative to raise funds for armed forces members in partnership with the USO, the leading organization for morale-boosting programs and services for American troops and their families.

    Kroger said the campaign will include in-store and online promotions and a text-to-give campaign that encourages Kroger customers to text "USO" to 27722 during the race to donate $10 to USO programs.

  • A “Magically Delicious” cereal promotion

    Five limited-edition General Mills brand products hit the cereal aisle at Target stores this week as part of limited duration promotion that features package designs from the 50’s, 60’s and 80’s.

    Brands and the year of the featured packaged design include Cheerios 1956, Trix 1968, Honey Nut Cheerios 1984, Cinnamon Toast Crunch 1984 and Lucky Charms 1989. The package designs were chosen based on a national survey conducted by General Mills.

  • From Gaga to go fast, a return to racing on Sunday

    This coming Sunday will be a big weekend for brand impressions as the Target Bullseye takes to the track at the Daytona 500 on the hood of the Earnhardt Ganassi with Felix Sabates number 42 Target Chevrolet driven by Juan Pablo Montoya. The race is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern Time on Fox and kicks off a NASCAR season that will last until November. Montoya has been an average performer so far during the championship series known as the Spring Cup, but his chances of success and exposure for Target will be determined as much by luck as driving skill.

  • Going goo goo for Gaga

    Wow! Did you catch Lady Gaga at the Grammy Awards Sunday night? She received the award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Best Pop Vocal Album just days after Target announced an exclusive deal that allows fans to download the first single of her new album, “Born This Way,” scheduled for release on May 23. Gaga fans were able to pre-order the new album beginning last Friday through Feb. 26 at www.Target.com/gaga. Target’s exclusive deluxe edition includes three additional studio songs and five remixes, and will be available at stores nationwide and on Target.com.

  • Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Mattel develop Green Lantern toy line

    BURBANK, Calif. — Gearing up for the summer release of superhero flick Green Lantern, Warner Bros. Consumer Products is teaming up with licensee Mattel to help fans fight evil through a new branded toy line.

    WBCP said Mattel will bring "Green Lantern" to life by producing the lineup, which includes:

    • The Green Lantern Ring Blast jet figure and vehicle;

    • The Green Lantern Battle Shifters figures;

    • The Green Lantern Movie Masters figures; and

  • Macy's raises $16.25 million through holiday campaigns

    NEW YORK -- Macy’s announced that it has donated $16.25 million to various charitable organizations as a result of its 2010 Thanks For Sharing and Believe holiday campaigns. 

  • Grapevine Mills names marketing director

    Grapevine, Texas -- Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group said that Kerri Bear has joined the management team at Grapevine Mills as director of marketing and business development.

    Bear will be responsible for managing marketing, advertising and public relations programs, as well as selling in-mall media, securing sponsorships, coordinating promotional events and driving tourism.
