  • American Eagle to sponsor events for Child Abuse Prevention Month

    PITTSBURGH -- KidsVoice, an organization which advocates for abused, neglected and at-risk children, announced that American Eagle Outfitters will be the presenting sponsor for its events during Child Abuse Prevention Month, which include Kitetails & Cocktails on April 28 and Kites for Kids on April 30. Both events will take place at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium.

  • Dollar General raising funds, awareness for Autism

    GOODLETTSVILLE, Tenn. -- Dollar General have announced their partnership to increase awareness of autism and raise funds for autism research and advocacy during Autism Awareness Month in April.

    “This disorder affects many of our customers and we are proud to help fund research for the cause,” said Rick Dreiling, chairman and CEO of Dollar General.

  • Celebrity chef helps Hy-Vee get families cooking

     WEST DES MOINES, Iowa  -- Hy-Vee announced that it has enlisted the help of celebrity chef Curtis Stone to develop a series of recipes designed to bring families together for meals.

    Under the exclusive agreement with Hy-Vee, Stone, who stars as an investor/mentor on NBC's "America's Next Great Restaurant." will be featured in the company's TV commercials, print ads and in-store promotional materials over the next two years, said Randy Edeker, president and COO of Hy-Vee.

  • Country star nabs Target deal

    MINNEAPOLIS -- Target announced that it will offer an exclusive version of Alison Krauss & Union Station's "Paper Airplane," Krauss’ 14th album and the band’s follow-up to 2004’s Grammy-award-winning album "Lonely Runs Both Ways." The deluxe edition of Paper Airplane is now available for pre-order at Target.com and will be offered at Target retail stores nationwide beginning April 12.

  • Developers Diversified receives five MAXI awards

    Beachwood, Ohio -- Developers Diversified Realty Corp. said that it earned one MAXI Gold and four MAXI Silver awards for shopping center marketing and management programs at the International Council of Shopping Centers' Fusion Conference in Hollywood, Calif.

    In the Sales Promotions and Events category, a MAXI Gold was awarded to the 25 on the 25th event at Deer Park Town Center in Chicago. The center developed a wine-tasting promotion to showcase a local merchant and encourage shoppers to explore the center.

  • Kellogg goes racing with Target

    Target Chip Ganassi Racing (TCGR) has partnered with the Kellogg Company to become a primary sponsor on the number 10 Indy car driven by Dario Franchitti, winner of last week’s Honda Grand Prix of St. Petersburg and a three-time Izod IndyCar Series champ.

    Franchitti will pilot the number 10 Kellogg’s Honda Dallara for TCGR in round four of the Izod IndyCar Series in Brazil at the Itaipava Sao Paulo Indy 300 presented by Nestle on May 1 and in round 14 at the Baltimore Grand Prix on Sept. 4.

  • IdeaVillage names COO

    WAYNE, N.J. — A company that specializes in "As Seen on TV" products has named a new chief operating officer.

    Ron Boger, who currently serves as EVP of IdeaVillage, will take on the COO role. He will work with company founder Anand Khubani in launching new and innovative products in the mass market.

    Boger is credited with bringing such products as SlimShots, Yoshi ceramic knife, Fushigi ball, and Criss Angel MindFreak magic kits and tricks and more under the IdeaVillage banner and into the mass market.
