Kmart to focus marketing efforts on African Americans during Black History Month

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. In celebration of Black History Month, Kmart has developed a marketing message aimed at the African-American community. According to the company, the targeted approach aims at sharing a message of quality, exclusive services and smart prices during the month of February and continuing throughout the year. The company is partnering with comedian Steve Harvey and Mocha Moms to reach out to the community.

Kmart has also launched a new Web site,   http://www.kmart.com/sharetheword ,that features financial tips, trivia and a chance to win prizes such as tickets to see Steve Harvey and Kmart gift cards.
