  • Stride Rite launches Sesame Street Collection

    LEXINGTON, Mass. — Stride Rite Children's Group announced the launch of the Sesame Street by Stride Rite Collection. 

    The collection utilizes Stride Rite's branded Scientifically Tested Everyday Proven (STEP) System, which helps customers find age-appropriate footwear for their children.

  • Stater Bros. revs up car show sponsorship

    SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — Stater Bros. Supermarkets, which operates 167 stores in Southern California, announced that it will be the title sponsor of the largest car show on the West Coast as well as the largest Supermarket Chain sponsored event in America.  

    The Stater Bros. Route 66 Rendezvous will be held from Thursday, Sept. 15 through Sunday, Sept. 18 along the historic streets of downtown San Bernardino.  This is the 15th straight year that Stater Bros. has been the title sponsor.

  • TRU looks to scare up sales with in-store 'spook'tiques

    WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us annonced that in honor of Halloween it is opening dedicated in-store "spook"tiques offering a broad assortment of costumes and accessories, safety gear, candy and more. The retailer said it will also host a special trick-or-treat event in its stores nationwide on Saturday, Oct. 29.

  • Safeway launches contest to find 'America's Most Natural City'

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway announced that it will donate $20,000 to "America's Most Natural City" to help maintain its park facilities. In addition, the winning city will be awarded with 25 picnic tables, sectioned off from the 305-foot Douglas Fir table that recently broke the Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Picnic Table, which was built in celebration of Safeway's Open Nature, a new 100% natural line of high-quality foods, Safeway reported.

  • Zale and Jessica Simpson team up for jewelry line

    Dallas -- Zale Corp. is teaming up with celebrity Jessica Simpson on an exclusive collection of diamond fashion jewelry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    Jessica Simpson, known as a pop music artist, actress and reality TV personality, has become quite successful in the fashion world. Her Jessica Simpson Collection, which sells shoes, clothing, fragrances and other goods, is said to be worth about $1 billion.

  • Uniqlo opening two global flagships in Big Apple in October

    New York City -- Japanese fast-fashion giant Uniqlo is set to open its largest global flagship to date, an 89,000-sq.-ft. store on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The store, which will also be the larger single retailer on Fifth Avenue, will open on Oct. 14.

    One week later, Uniqlo will debut a second flagship in Manhattan, a 64,000-sq.-ft. store 34th St. It will be the chain’s second largest global flagship
