    Chicago - Starwood Retail Partners is rewarding mall shoppers, regardless of which stores in the mall they choose to shop.

    Starwood is rolling out Oh, So Simple Rewards, a program that lets consumers earn credit for their purchases at stores across the entire mall.

  • Ulta roars ahead in Q2; on track to open 100 stores and launch TV advertising

    Bolingbrook, Ill. -- Fast-growing Ulta Beauty shows no signs of losing its momentum as the specialty retailer reported better than-expected results for the second quarter and raised its guidance.

    On its quarterly earnings call, Ulta said it will launch a national television advertising campaign.

    Ulta’s net profits increased 8.5% to $74.2 million, from $60.8 million in the year-ago period, helped by an improved online assortment and less overall discounting.

  • GameStop a winner in Q2

    Grapevine, Texas – GameStop Corp. on Thursday posted a strong second quarter, with profit and revenue that topped analysts’ estimates.

    The retailer’s net income rose 3% to $25.3 million from $24.6 million.

    Falmouth, Mass. – In The Pink wants its customers to feel connected.

    The 10-store specialty chain, exclusively selling Lily Pulitzer branded merchandise, offers a product assortment that makes customers feel a high degree of personal connection. Building on this personal relationship, In The Pink allows customers to direct promotions – in the form of 21-second online videos.

  • Report: Mobile commerce to skyrocket

    New York -- Global mobile commerce is set to explode, according to Coupofy.com, a Seattle-based database of online coupon codes.  
    The company predicts global mobile commerce will grow 42% annually between 2013 and 2016, compared to 13% for regular e-commerce. Mobile shoppers will spend an estimated $600 billion in 2018, up from $200 billion in 2014.

  • Study: Food nourishes digital coupon growth

    Minneapolis - The number of digitally distributed coupons for CPG brands on key websites received nourishment from food shoppers in the first half of 2015.

    Overall CPG digital coupon distribution increased by 17%, according to analysis conducted by Kantar Media.

    The increase was attributable primarily to food areas. Within food, the dry grocery area, which is historically the largest area in digitally distributed coupons, accounted for much of the growth.

  • Study: CMOs shifting marketing investments

    New York -- Technology-related spending by chief marketing officers (CMOs) is on the rise.

    According to a study from Foundation Capital, technology spend by CMOs will increase 10 fold in 10 years, growing from $12 billion to $120 billion.
