  • European Wax Center to open at Indian Springs Center

    The Woodlands, Texas -- Jacksonville, Fla.-based Regency Centers said it has leased retail space in The Woodlands, Texas, at Indian Springs Center to European Wax Center.

    Specializing in facial and body waxing, European Wax Center has leased 2,528 sq. ft., bringing the center to 99% leased. The tenant is slated to open for business in February 2011.

    The 136,624-sq.-ft. shopping center is anchored by H.E.B. alongside national retailers such as Subway, Edible Arrangements, Massage Envy and Supercuts.

  • Harrisburg Mall sees retail reinvention

    Atlanta -- Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle said it has added local playhouse theatre company Broadway Classics Productions to Harrisburg Mall.

    Located in a former anchor store situated off of Center Court, Broadway Classics Productions opened on Nov. 19.

    The theater expects 200 to 300 people per show, with three to four shows per week.

  • Survey: Holiday credit-card use drops to new low

    New York City -- A survey released Friday by America’s Research Group found that after the Thanksgiving shopping weekend, just 17% of shoppers were paying with credit, representing about half of last year’s level and the lowest rate in the 27 years that the firm has conducted the survey.

    “The consumer really feels a lot of pressure from previous debts, and they just aren’t going to dig themselves into that kind of hole,” said Britt Beemer, CEO, of America’s Research Group.

  • Macy’s to install Philips EnduraLED lamps in nationwide retrofit

    Somerset, N.J. -- Philips Lighting Wednesday announced that Macy's has selected its custom-designed Philips EnduraLED solid-state LED lamp as part of the nationwide program to retrofit 117,000 halogen-based accent lighting in 86 of its U.S. stores.
