Harrisburg Mall sees retail reinvention

12/10/2010

Atlanta -- Atlanta-based Jones Lang LaSalle said it has added local playhouse theatre company Broadway Classics Productions to Harrisburg Mall.

Located in a former anchor store situated off of Center Court, Broadway Classics Productions opened on Nov. 19.

The theater expects 200 to 300 people per show, with three to four shows per week.

In addition to benefiting from foot traffic to the theater, Harrisburg Mall receives a percentage of each ticket sold. The tenant has teamed up with other retailers in the mall to offer special discounts to patrons and is also establishing a youth program to generate interest in the arts among students.

“Jones Lang LaSalle continues to push the envelope in what is considered ‘traditional retail,’” said Jennifer Adams, specialty leasing director, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. “Shopping centers constantly evolve to meet consumers’ needs and a tenant like Broadway Theater is a perfect example of how shopping centers continue to reinvent themselves with adaptive reuse.”
