  • Neiman Marcus unveils fantasy gifts — for those with deep pockets

    Neiman Marcus’s legendary Christmas Book turns 90 this year, but age has not dimmed its over-the-top appeal.   On Wednesday, the luxe retailer unveiled the 90th edition of its annual holiday catalog and, in keeping with past years, it includes a collection (12 to be exact) of indulgent—and very pricey — fantasy gifts.       
  • Tile Shop tops Q3 estimates

    The surge in home improvement projects is helping fuel sales at The Tile Shop.    Tile Shop Holdings Inc. on Tuesday reported third-quarter profit of $4.6 million for the third quarter, ended Sept. 30. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 10 cents per share.   The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 9 cents per share.

    SPECS, the “Retail Event for Store Innovation,” announced that a highly acclaimed military general who is an expert on security and global affairs will open the second day of the program of its 53rd annual conference, which will be held March 12-14, 2017, at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee (Orlando), Florida.

  • Apple’s new tree-filled flagship

    Apple has re-opened its 12-year-old London flagship after a major overhaul that reflects the company’s updated store strategy.     Located on Regent Street, the redone space has an airy look and natural feel, with an open glass façade, high ceilings, oversized windows and plenty of room to move around. The increased ceiling height allowed for the addition of twelve Ficus Ali trees, complete with planters that double as a comfortable place to sit. Two “living” walls are covered with greenery.
