  • Target bolsters digital initiative ahead of holiday shopping season

    Target is enlisting Jonna Mendez, a former CIA officer, who will serve as a “Kids’ Gift Detective.” Inspired by her years of CIA experience, Mendez will offer online tips and techniques via a video series at ABullseyeView.com where she works with popular mom bloggers.
     
    In addition, Target will offer a dedicated kids’ gifts page on its website and will launch a digital gift catalog in early November.
     

  • Park City Group adds Vons/Pavilions exec to team

    Park City Group, a leading consumer goods supply chain technology provider, has appointed Gary Rocheleau as a senior adviser.  

    Rocheleau, who has more than 40 years of experience, will be responsible for developing business solutions, consulting and expanding efforts in the retail channel.

  • Tiffany’s relaunches e-commerce site

    New York – Tiffany & Co. is relaunching its Tiffany.com e-commerce site. The site includes enhanced zoom capabilities and several expanded sections.

    Blue Book, the company’s collection of couture jewels, is showcased with scenes from the Tiffany Workshop where they are created, as well as an expanded engagement section with a gemologist’s video and review of Tiffany’s quality standards.

  • Former Walmart exec Lewis heads to Aetna

    Former Walmart executive Dijuana Lewis will be joining Aetna as EVP, responsible for the newly formed Consumer Products and Enterprise Marketing organization.

    In this role, she will be responsible for aligning consumer-focused businesses, products, services and capabilities to deliver a personalized end-to-end consumer experience that positions the company for long-term growth.

    Lewis will report directly to Aetna chairman, CEO and president Mark Bertolini and will be a member of the company’s executive committee.

  • Office Depot to hold 'Twitter Chat' on environmental transparency

  • Safeway increases stock buyback by $2 billion

    Pleasanton, Calif. – The board of directors of Safeway Inc. has increased the authorized level of the company's stock repurchase program by $2 billion. Through the end of the third quarter of 2013, Safeway had approximately $800 million remaining under its previously authorized stock repurchase program.

  • Dollar General tests fuel stations

    Goodlettsville, Tenn. – Dollar General is opening its first fuel station, as part of a test pilot project. The new fuel pumps are located at the Dollar General Market in Hanceville, Ala.

  • Sainsbury to open first dedicated online DC

    Leading U.K. food retailer Sainsbury just past online grocery sales of £1 billion ($1.6 billion U.S.) and to celebrate the occasion announced plans to open its first dedicated online fulfillment center in east London.

    Home delivery of grocery is more commonplace in the U.K., especially London, where higher population densities and prohibitively high fuel prices discourage vehicle ownership.
