  • Canadian retailer Giant Tiger roars with Manhattan Associates

    Atlanta -- Giant Tiger, the largest Canadian-owned chain of discount stores in Canada, has increased pick accuracy and decreased short and overage claims since implementing Manhattan Associates’ warehouse management system (WMS).

  • Instacart uses Zebra IoT solution for cloud printing

    San Francisco - Instacart is utilizing Zebra's hosted Zatar Internet of Things (IoT) platform for cloud printing and device management of Zebra printers. This new solution allows Instacart to print labels at locations across the U.S. securely and accurately.

    Instacart chose to use the Zatar IoT platform for its ability to connect to and control devices in third-party locations via an API. The solution connects Instacart's printers to the cloud and enables the organization to interact with, monitor and manage Zebra printers globally.

  • Kroger offers 2-for-1 stock split, boosts dividend

    The largest supermarket operator in the United States is on fire, so it makes sense that the Kroger Co. approved its first stock split in 16 years and a 13.5% dividend increase.

    The company announced that its board of directors approved an increase to the company's quarterly dividend, a two-for-one split of its common shares, and a new $500 million share repurchase program.

  • Bed Bath & Beyond misses Q1 profit, same-store sales

    Union, N.J. – Bed, Bath & Beyond Inc. missed Wall Street expectations for profit and same-store sales during a not-so-comfy first quarter of 2015. Net earnings dropped 18% to $158.5 million from $187.1 million, with increased selling, general and administrative (SG&A) and interest expenses offsetting higher gross profit.

    Net sales totaled $2.74 billion, an increase of 3% from $2.66 billion. Same-store sales increased by 2.2%, including the negative impact of Canadian currency fluctuation.

  • Nook still a drag on Barnes & Noble

    Barnes & Noble Inc. posted another disappointing quarter of financial results as the retailer continues to struggle against Amazon.com and declining Nook sales.

  • Harrods among U.K. retailers using Borderfree for global e-commerce

    London – U.K. retailers Harrods, Browns, Space NK Apothecary, The Dune Group, Aspinal of London, Trunki, Brand Outlet, Austin Reed, Viyella, CC and Soletrader have all signed up to Borderfree’s global e-commerce platform.

  • Dollar General has a new finance chief

    Dollar General Corp. has promoted one of its finance executives to serve as interim chief financial officer.

    The company says John W. Garratt will serve as interim chief financial officer effective July 1. He follows David Tehle, who had previously announced his retirement in March.
