  • Domino’s promotes three execs

    Ann Arbor, Mich. -– Domino’s Pizza Inc. named Richard E. Allison, 47, president, Domino's International.   Allison has been with the company since 2011 and has led its international division since that time, succeeding Michael T. Lawton, current CFO, who ran the division prior to Allison. Prior to Domino's, Allison spent more than 13 years at Bain & Company, where he was a partner and co-leader of the firm's restaurant practice.   
  • Tool company extends longest streak in retail

    Plenty of retailers pay dividends, but none comes close to matching the track record of Stanley Black & Decker.

    The company declared a 52 cent a share dividend for its fourth quarter and in so doing set a mark no retailer is likely to ever attain.

  • Maurices plans 16 new stores in time for holidays

    Duluth, Minn. –- Maurices is ramping up its store openings in time for the holiday season with plans to open 16 new stores. These expansions will give the girls’ apparel retailer a total of 938 locations, advancing it toward its goal of having more than 1,300 stores in the United States and Canada.   
  • Signet Jewelers CEO resigns; names COO Mark Light as new chief

    Hamilton, Bermuda –- In a surprise announcement, Signet Jewelers Ltd., the largest jewelry retailer in the U.S., U.K. and Canada, said that its president and COO, Mark Light,  will take over as CEO on Nov. 1. He will replace Signet’s current chief, Michael Barnes, who is resigning from his position and from Signet's board of directors to "pursue opportunities closer to his home in Dallas," effective Oct. 31.

    Burlington, Mass. -- Demandware Inc., a provider of enterprise cloud commerce solutions, has acquired CQuotient, a cloud personalization provider. The acquisition of CQuotient will accelerate Demandware’s plans to turn the data created across its community of retail brands into actionable insights for business optimization and differentiated consumer shopping experiences.   
  • Plug and Play launches Retail and Brand Meetup Oct. 22

    Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Plug and Play Tech Center is launching its first Retail and Brand Meetup on Wednesday, Oct.  22, starting at 5:30 pm PDT.
