    A one-of-a-kind interactive holiday adventure awaits families in several malls across the country. General Growth Properties (GGP) today unveiled Adventure to Santa, a DreamWorks DreamPlace holiday experience that starts with Shrek, ends with Santa and blends storytelling with cutting-edge technology.

  • EBay launches interactive art auction promo

    San Jose, Calif. –- EBay is launching a collaboration with artist and illustrator Mario Wagner to create an interactive art installation in New York City. Titled Art For All, the installation celebrates the recent launch of EBay’s new live auctions experience, which makes a selection of art and collectibles from auction houses around the world available on EBay.   
  • Hershey CEO appointed to president’s council on U.S. –Africa trade

    J.P. Bilbrey, CEO of Hershey, has been appointed by the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to President Obama’s newly-established Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa (PAC-DBIA).  

    Bilbrey will be one of the 15 private sector leaders providing guidance to the president on strengthening partnerships with African nations to leverage the opportunities for U.S. companies committed to supporting the continent for the long term. 

    The private-sector council will focus on strengthening the U.S.’ commercial relationships with African nations. 

  • Gap sales drop in Q3, October

    San Francisco –- Gap Inc. reported declining net and same-store sales for the third quarter and October 2014. For the third quarter Gap’s net sales were $3.97 billion, down 2.5% from $3.98 billion for the third quarter the prior year.  
  • Study: Retailers will apply Big Data analytics on front end

    London, U.K. -- Analytics will be applied in front-end as well as back-end applications in retail. According to a new study from Frost & Sullivan, the aim of every retailer is to integrate data from multiple channels to provide an omnichannel experience for the customer.  
  • Beauty site connects commerce and cause

    New website BeautyKind.us will enable consumers to give back just by making purchases.  Whether it’s shopping for makeup, skincare, fragrances, hair or nail products, 5% of the purchase price of every product will be donated to the charity of the consumer's choice. The unique shopping platform “We-Commerce” was created to integrate cause within commerce and bring the beauty community together for the greater good.

  • Fastenal CEO to resign

    New York -- The CEO of Fastenal, Willard Oberton,  will resign from the 2,700 store chain, effective Dec. 31. Oberton, 56, will remain chairman of the company and continue to be actively involved in strategic planning and performance measurements.    
  • Black Friday made easy at Toys "R" Us

    Toys "R" Us Inc. on Friday announced an array of holiday marketing initiatives along with the news that its stores will open at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day Thursday, Nov. 27, the same time as 2013, and will remain open through 11 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, offering doorbusters and deals.
