Interactive "Adventure to Santa" comes to GGP malls

11/7/2014

A one-of-a-kind interactive holiday adventure awaits families in several malls across the country. General Growth Properties (GGP) today unveiled Adventure to Santa, a DreamWorks DreamPlace holiday experience that starts with Shrek, ends with Santa and blends storytelling with cutting-edge technology.

The 2,000-square-foot interactive cottage debuts at five GGP locations across the country, taking families on a 15 minute journey to the North Pole with Shrek and friends. The guests will be issued specially provided passports processed at the North Pole by one of Santa’s elves. Then they’ll be personally guided through the cottage for a range of interactive activities, such as designing they own sleigh and taking a motion-based virtual sleigh ride. The adventure culminates when children and their families enjoy a private visit with Santa.

“Some of our fondest holiday memories include meeting Santa to share our wish lists,” said Scott Morey, EVP of GGP. “Our partners at DreamWorks Animation bring an entirely new kind of magic to that experience. Their expertise, coupled with GGP’s commitment to continue to elevate the mall shopping experience truly makes this a must-see attraction at our malls.”

The attraction is free and guests will have the opportunity to purchase a special keepsake photo after their journey. Visit www.AdventureToSanta.com to find the nearest GGP mall and schedule an appointment, or download the DreamPlace app from the Apple App Store and/or Google Play, eliminating the need to wait in line before embarking on this unforgettable adventure.

Glendale Galleria in Los Angeles will be the first GGP mall to open the experience on Thursday, November 6, with the first celebrity guest Khloe Kardashian to tour the house during a private event to celebrate the opening.
