  • Stein Mart launches national ad campaign with social media focus

    Jacksonville, Fla. -- Stein Mart said Tuesday that it has partnered with ad agency ArnoldNYC to launch a national campaign focusing on digital and social engagement.

    "Love at First Find," which launched Monday, consists of digital, social media, TV, print and radio, and stars real Stein Mart customers with the goal of fostering an online community of fans via Facebook and Stein Mart's website.

  • WinCo Foods deploys aisle411 retail navigation platform

    St. Louis -- Mobile retail and navigation service aisle411 announced that WinCo Foods has deployed the aisle411 platform in its 79 stores.

    With the aisle411 App, users can instantly locate products in stores down to the specific section of the aisle, manage shopping lists, share experiences with friends via social media integration, and find mobile coupons.

    WinCo operates more than 79 stores and four distribution centers in the states of Washington, Idaho, Nevada, California, Oregon and Utah.
     

  • Target unveils Missoni pop-up at New York Fashion Week

    NEW YORK — The third annual Fashion’s Night Out -- created by Vogue editor Anna Wintour -- kicked off on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 6 p.m. Although the shopping extravaganza has spread to more than 100 U.S. cities as well as select cities abroad, its nexus remains in New York City. More than 1,000 Big Apple merchants and designers are participating in the event, which is the kickoff to the city’s Fashion Week industry gathering.

  • Former Thomson Reuters exec takes on new role at eBay

    SAN JOSE, Calif. — eBay has announced that Devin Wenig is joining the company as president of its global eBay Marketplaces business unit, which includes eBay, the world’s leading online marketplace; eBay classifieds sites in more than 1,000 cities worldwide; and StubHub, the world’s largest online tickets marketplace. Wenig will report to eBay Inc. president and CEO John Donahoe.

  • Kodak celebrates 100 million cameras sold with HSN deal

    ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Eastman Kodak Company announced that it had entered into an exclusive offering with HSN to sell the Kodak Easyshare Touch M5370 Digital Camera on Sept. 4 to celebrate 100 Million cameras sold over the last fifteen years.  The camera was available at a special price on HSN for $149.95 including free shipping through Sunday, Sept. 4.  

  • Survey: Retailers plan to open more stores due to lower rents

    Los Angeles -- A report released Tuesday by commercial real estate firm C.B. Richard Ellis said that 59% of U.S. retailers plan to open more stores due to the attractive rental rates available in the current market environment.

  • Safeway launches contest to find 'America's Most Natural City'

    PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway announced that it will donate $20,000 to "America's Most Natural City" to help maintain its park facilities. In addition, the winning city will be awarded with 25 picnic tables, sectioned off from the 305-foot Douglas Fir table that recently broke the Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Picnic Table, which was built in celebration of Safeway's Open Nature, a new 100% natural line of high-quality foods, Safeway reported.

  • 'Desperate Housewife' featured in TRU differently-abled toy guide

    WAYNE, N.J. — Toys"R"Us announced that "Desperate Housewives" star Eva Longoria will be featured on the cover of its 2011 edition of the Toys"R"Us Toy Guide for Differently-Abled Kids. Longoria will be featured alongside Elijah De La Cerda, a 5-year-old boy with Down syndrome from Fresno, Calif., the company announced. Released annually, this complimentary resource is created with guidance from the National Lekotek Center, a nonprofit organization dedicated to making play accessible to children of all abilities.
