  • Survey: Retailers value mobile commerce

    When it comes to selling products online, retailers want to go wherever their customers go. According to the 2015 E-Commerce Benchmark Survey from Boston Retail Partners, close to half (45%) of surveyed retailers indicated that mobile websites are their most important e-commerce capability.

  • Kohl’s kicks up omnichannel efforts; piloting same-day delivery

    Kohl’s has been busy on the omnichannel front during 2015, and the retailer is now taking its efforts into high gear.

    On Tuesday, the retailer announced several new omnichannel shopping tools, and said it will also pilot same-day delivery in select markets.

  • Rite Aid beats street in Q2, adjusts guidance

    Rite Aid on Thursday reported $7.7 billion in revenue for its fiscal second quarter ended Aug. 29, representing an increase of 17.5%. Retail pharmacy segment revenues were $6.6 billion and increased 1.9%, primarily as a result of an increase in same-store sales. And pharmacy services segment revenues were $1.1 billion from the date of the acquisition of EnvisionRx — June 24 — through the end of the quarter.

    October will be over in a flash, and with it, all eyes will be on the holiday season, which is measured from November 1 through December 31.

    The 2015 retail calendar has several distinctions, as we saw Memorial Day fall on the earliest possible date and Labor Day on the latest possible date. This holiday season, there are 28 days between Thanksgiving (not counting the actual day) and Christmas, which is an average amount for the period separating the two holidays.

  • Champs makes sneaker releases less sneaky

    Champs Sports is joining the rapidly expanding ranks of retailers with a consumer-facing mobile app. The Champs Sports app allows customers to find upcoming sneaker launches, launch dates, and locations in which the hottest sneakers can be purchased, as well as browse and buy items from the online Champs store.

    A complete release calendar allows customers to keep up with future shoe launches and be the first to know about hot, new releases. Users can also select a specific sneaker release and seamlessly add it to their iCalendar or Google Calendar.
