  • Report: Holiday promotions succeed in November

    San Francisco -- Shopper traffic and window conversion improved significantly as heavy promotions brought shoppers back out to the mall. According to analysis of nearly 25 million domestic shopping sessions during November 2013 by in-store analytics provider Euclid, average visit durations were shorter than a year ago for the fourth month in a row as the increasingly omni-channel marketplace continued to drive more focused shopping trips.

  • KeyPoint adds six management assignments

    Burlington, Mass. — KeyPoint Partners has added six new properties to its property management portfolio, five in Massachusetts and one in Virginia. The assignments consist of retail, office and industrial space totaling more than 1.39 million sq. ft.

  • Report: Amazon deploys robots in DCs

    Seattle – Amazon.com is reportedly using robots from Kiva Systems at three distribution centers. According to the Wall Street Journal, the robots bring merchandise from shelves to warehouse workers and can potentially reduce the cost of filling an order by 20% to 40%, for an annual savings of more than $900 million.

    Amazon purchased Kiva for $775 million in March 2012 and according to a recent financial disclosure now has 1,400 Kiva robots in service helping fulfill orders. The retailer declined to comment on the project.

     

  • Mobile fashion app launches

    New York -- SK Planet Inc. is launching its first major mobile app, Styletag, for finding, sharing and buying the current fashion styles. The dynamic, free fashion app will be released Monday, Dec. 9 for iOS 7 (iPad, iPhone and iPod) and on Google Play for Android.  

  • Newegg Marketplace starts holiday shopping season right

    Newegg, a leading electronics-focused e-retailer in the United States, is leveraging its record-breaking Black November sales for its Marketplace Division to drive additional sales this holiday season.

    Newegg Marketplace reported sales of 109% year-over-year, making this the second consecutive year of triple-digit growth.

    Newegg has also added Cooking.com, eBags.com, Griffin Technology, Overstock.com, Samy's Camera, Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us to its Marketplace this year.

  • Former Bliss exec is new face of skin care brand Ahava

    Dead Sea mineral-based skin care brand Ahava has appointed Beth Ann Catalano as president of Ahava North America, effective Jan. 1, 2014. Catalano succeeds Elana Drell-Szyfer, who recently joined the ranks at Kenneth Cole Productions.

  • Reports: AmazonFresh could expand to San Francisco

    New York — Amazon's fresh food delivery service may be expanding to San Francisco, according to published reports.

    All Things Digital, a Dow Jones-owned website that reports on technology news, reported on several sightings in San Francisco of AmazonFresh trucks, as well as a recent job posting.

  • Storefront partners with MTA to offer retail space in NYC subways

    New York -- Storefront, the online marketplace that connects artists, designers, and brands with retail space, has partnered with the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority to offer unique retail space for rent in the New York City Subway.
