  • Original Soupman plans national franchise growth

    New York – Soupman Inc., parent company of specialty restaurant chain The Original Soupman, is partnering with the Atlanta Franchise Group, a franchise development company brought on to grow The Original Soupman's franchise presence across the country.

  • Report: Abercrombie installing in-store mobile charging stations

    New Albany, Ohio – Abercrombie & Fitch is reportedly rolling out charging stations for mobile phones and tablets in its stores. According to TheStreet, there are currently two Abercrombie & Fitch stores with mobile charging stations installed, and the retailer plans to roll out the stations at several more Abercrombie and Hollister stores by the end of the year.

  • Pizza Hut, Papa John’s lead in quick-service satisfaction

    Ann Arbor, Mich. – Pizza chains Pizza Hut and Papa John’s are tied for the highest customer satisfaction score among quick-service restaurants. According to the 2014 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), Papa John’s (unchanged from 2013) and Pizza Hut (+3%) share the lead at 82, with Little Caesar (-2%) and Domino’s Pizza (-1%) not far behind at 80.

  • Baja Fresh to pilot Sparkfly omnichannel promotion tracking

    Irvine, Calif. - Baja Fresh is piloting a solution from Sparkfly that will allow it to launch promotions through Google Search, Facebook, Yelp, Opera Mediaworks and UberMedia, and assess the effectiveness of each individual channel with real-time redemption data. Leveraging the technology from the Sparkfly platform, the campaign includes information on basket size and individual items purchased.

  • Visit Peru at the mall in Short Hills, N.J.

    Short Hills, N.J. — Visit Machu Picchu in Peru at The Mall at Short Hills this summer. In partnership with PromPeru: The Commission on the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism, The Mall at Short Hills will feature Peru-themed promotions from June 13 through July 10.

    Highlights include:

    An interactive exhibit of Machu Picchu: The centerpiece of the effort is a 20 X 30 ft. exhibit of the fabled Machu Picchu, the Incan citadel named one of the New Seven Wonders of the World in a 2007 international Internet poll.

  • Divaris announces leases for Richmond shopping centers

    Richmond, Va. — Divaris Real Estate has leased shopping center space in Richmond to two retailers and a restaurant: Family Dollar, Wilson Lee Interiors and Hanako.

    Family Dollar renewed its lease for 7,150 sq. ft. in the Divaris-leased and –managed Midlothian Crossing. Divaris represented the landlord, Midlothian Associates, in the transaction.
