Kohl’s holiday promotion includes chance for free merchandise
Kohl’s Inc. will pay for the gift purchases of a few lucky shoppers as part of its upcoming "Giveaway Saturday" holiday campaign.
Beginning Saturday, Dec. 7 and continuing each Saturday through Dec. 21, the promotion includes the following events:
- 'Your Cart, Our Treat'
On Dec. 7 and continuing Dec. 14 and Dec. 21, four customers at each of the more than 1,100 Kohl’s stores nationwide will have their cart paid for each day. That equates to more than 4,000 shoppers getting their purchases for free each Saturday and more than 10,000 carts during the holiday season. - Kohl’s Daily Gift Drop
From Tues., Dec 3 – Tuesday, Dec. 24. Kohl’s will unveil gifts like beauty products, trending stocking stuffers, toys, holiday treat makers, and apparel each day. - Super Saturday deals each Saturday in December
Each Saturday Dec. 7 through Dec. 21, Kohl’s will unveil one-day-only "Super Saturday" deals including up to 50% off select products in categories including toys, active apparel, holiday decor, coats, and women’s boots. - Kohl’s Cash ornament giveaway
On Saturday, Dec. 7, Kohl's will give away limited quantities of its Kohl's Cash ornament in stores nationwide as a gift with purchase - Kohl’s Cash
Each day through Tuesday, Dec. 24, customers have the opportunity to earn in $10 Kohl’s Cash⁺rewards funds for every $50 spent. From Dec. 5-15, Kohl’s shoppers will get 30% off when using a Kohl’s card, 25% off for Kohl’s Rewards members, and 20% off for every customer.
"Surprising customers and gifting them a cart full of merchandise is a fun way to get in the holiday spirit, and one of the many ways we are helping families save money this season,” said Christie Raymond, Kohl’s chief marketing officer. “Shoppers can count on Kohl’s to help them check all their holiday boxes with affordable, meaningful gifts for everyone, more ways to save, and unexpected moments that will bring even more joy and magic to their holidays.”
Kohl’s is also extending its store hours as Christmas Day approaches. From Dec. 20 through Dec. 23, most Kohl’s stores will be open from 8 a.m. local time until midnight, and on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, most Kohl’s stores will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. local time.
Kohl’s builds on holiday promotions
Kohl’s previously said it will have nearly twice the number of gift options this year, including through what it calls the Kohl’s Value Gift Shop, which will feature stocking stuffers and grab-and-go gifts with prices as low as $3, $5 and $8. The majority of gifts will be under $5, and hundreds will be under $10.
Kohl’s stores will also provide "inspiration and solutions for gift givers," with more curated gifting displays throughout the store and gift sets across categories.
Other already announced holiday offerings include 50% more seasonal decor items this year, including a prominent front-of-store positioning and a new in-store Kohl’s Tree Farm featuring an expanded assortment of trees, ornaments, lighting, and inflatables. The retailer is also increasing its gift-giving essentials offerings with nearly 50% more holiday cards and gift wrap.

Based in Menomonee Falls, Wis., Kohl’s operates more than 1,100 stores in 49 states, as well as an e-commerce site and consumer app.
