Grubhub teams with ‘Saturday Night Live’ star for Tax Day promo
An online delivery platform wants to lessen the impact of the impending income tax filing deadline on customer wallets, and is enlisting celebrity help to spread the word.
Grubhub is running a national “Grubhub Fee Return” promotion through Wednesday, April 15 (the official deadline for filing federal income taxes) which will give back $100,000 in Grubhub credit to 5,000 customers who paid food delivery fees from any food delivery app in 2025.
Customers can file their Grubhub Fee Return application by submitting any 2025 receipt from any food delivery app with fees included for a chance to win $20 in Grubhub credit.
As part of the campaign, Grubhub is partnering with comedian and "Saturday Night Live" cast member Veronika Slowikowska to help publicize the offering, including an appearance in a new promotional film.
"Tax season and I have a very complicated relationship. Being forced to revisit all my financial decisions from the past year has definitely led to some spiraling and maybe a little secret bill-shredding," said Slowikowska. "But unlike my past mistakes, delivery fees and service fees on bigger Grubhub orders are already a thing of the past, which feels like real growth. And now they're giving people the opportunity to get back some of the fees from last year's orders? I was like...finally. Something I can get behind. Let's bring a little joy to this otherwise painful moment."
To participate in “Grubhub Fee Return,” consumers can take the following steps:
- Find a receipt from any food delivery order placed in 2025.
- Visit GrubhubFeeReturn.com.
- Submit a fee return by April 15, 2026, for a chance to receive $20 in Grubhub credit.
Through April 15, Grubhub is also offering $10.40 off qualifying orders of $50 or more from Sweetgreen, Krispy Kreme or Chili’s and $10 the first order of $50 or more from a new customer. These limited time offers can be combined with Grubhub’s recently instituted waiving of delivery and service fees for restaurant orders of $50 or more.
