    1. The import tax wild card. The Trump administration has floated a new tax policy that would apply a 20% tax on imports from Mexico, as well as other countries with which the United States has a trade deficit. If implemented, this tax could have a disproportionally large negative impact on merchants that export much of the goods they sell — i.e., almost all of our readers.

The building façade, which draws inspiration from woven fabric patterns, was created with artisanal pre-cast concrete, sustainable panels.

    Neiman Marcus will unveil its relocated store in Fort Worth, Texas, at The Shops at Clearfork, on Feb. 10.    The nearly 95,000-sq.-ft. store is the anchor tenant — and first to open — at the new upscale open-air center, which is being developed by Simon Property Group.    The new Neiman Marcus blends a modern, luxurious design with state-of-the art technology and an array of special services.  
  • Pinterest makes it easier to buy with ‘Shop the Look’

    Buying merchandise on Pinterest just got even easier.   On Wednesday, Feb. 8, the social media site rolled out a new service called “Shop the Look.” An extension of the company’s Buyable Pins program which enables “pinners” to buy a specific item directly on Pinterest, Shop the Look users can “click on and even buy products they find inside fashion and home decor Pins,” Tim Kendall, Pinterest’s president, explained in the company’s business blog.  
  • Neiman Marcus scraps IPO

    Neiman Marcus Group is not going public anytime soon.    In a filing on Friday, the luxury department store retailer said it would withdraw its initial public offering, having determined "that it is not in its best interests" to proceed with the initial public offering at the current time.
