  • Kohl’s donates $1.7 million to support fight against cancer

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s is continuing its partnerships with the American Cancer Society and the Southeast Wisconsin affiliate of Susan G. Komen. To that end, the retailer and its philanthropic platform, Kohl’s Cares, have donated $1.7 million to support and expand education and patient-assistance programs.

  • Chipotle opens in Orange Plaza in Middletown, N.Y.

    Purchase, N.Y. -- Chipotle Mexican Grill has opened at Orange Plaza, an 815,000-sq.-ft. Middletown, N.Y. power-center owned by National Realty & Development Corp.

    Orange Plaza’s anchors include a Wal-Mart Supercenter, The Home Depot, Kohl’s Department Store, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, Bed Bath & Beyond and Staples.

    The center draws shoppers from a 12-mile radius with a population of more than 157,000. Approximately 20,000 of the 46,000 vehicles passing the center every day are shopping center destination trips.

  • Kohl’s to open customer service ops center in Dallas

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s Department Stores has announced plans to open a new customer service operations center in Dallas.

    Expected to open in late spring 2014, the two-building, three-story, 240,000-sq.-ft. facility will support the continued growth of the company’s Kohl’s Charge program, as well as its online business, which reached $1.4 billion in sales last year following three consecutive years of more than 40%  annual growth.

  • Kohl’s expands footprint in Texas

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s plans to open a new customer service operations center in Dallas in late spring 2014. The two-building, three-story, 240,000-sq.-ft. facility will support the company’s growing Kohl’s Charge program as well as Kohls.com.

    The company's e-commerce site reached $1.4 billion in sales last year following three consecutive years of more than 40% annual growth.

  • Kohl's names Starbucks' exec chief customer officer

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s has appointed Starbucks executive Michelle Gass to the newly created position of chief customer officer. She will report directly to Kohl’s chairman, president and CEO Kevin Mansell.

    Gass, who joins Kohl’s on June 17, will have leadership responsibility for Kohl’s branding across all channels. She will oversee all marketing efforts, the company’s high growth e-commerce business on Kohls.com and the customer’s total omnichannel experience.

  • Mother Nature unkind to Kohl’s in Q1

    Kohl's Corp. reported a 5% drop in first-quarter profit on weak sales due to unseasonably cold weather in large parts of the United States.

    Kohl's net income fell to $147 million in the quarter ended May 4, down from $154 million a year earlier.

    Sales fell 1% to $4.2 billion. Comparable-store sales fell 1.9%.

  • Kohl’s Q1 profit falls 5% but beats Street

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl's Corp. reported a 5% drop in first-quarter profit on weak sales fell due to unseasonably cold weather in large parts of the United States.
