  • Kohl’s details sustainability progress

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s Department Stores released its 2012 corporate social responsibility report, providing updates on the company’s programs and accomplishments in sustainability, community relations and social compliance. The company noted that, as of the end of fiscal 2012, it has achieved 752 Energy Star-certified locations, adding 75 stores in 2012 with a goal to reach 800 certified locations by 2015.

  • Kohl’s hot on community involvement again this summer

    MILWAUKEE — Kohl’s is scheduled to return to Summerfest this year with its Captivation Station, an educative program geared toward children and families. Also returning to the festival will be the free-admission program Kohl’s Family Day, scheduled from noon–3 p.m. Sunday, June 30.

  • Derek Lam designs dress up Kohl's apparel selection

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Designer Derek Lam's Rio de Janeiro inspired collection is now available at Kohl's as part of the retailer's DesigNation series. The limited edition, limited time collection is Lam’s first collaboration with Kohl’s and also marks his first swimwear collection.

  • Kohl’s receives EPA’s highest Energy Star award

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s Department Stores will be recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as a recipient of the 2013 Energy Star Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award for the company’s continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency initiatives.

  • Kohl’s Q4 profit falls less than expected, but forecast misses

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl's Corp. reported a lower fourth quarter profit on Thursday, hurt by markdowns during the holiday season. The loss was lower than Wall Street had expected. The retailer also forecast full-year earnings that fell short of analysts’ forecasts.
     
    Kohl's said its net income fell to $378 million for the quarter ended Feb.2, from $455 million a year earlier. (The retail calendar for fiscal January 2013 included a fifth week, resulting in a 14-week fiscal fourth quarter and a 53-week year.)

  • Kohl's profit slips in Q4

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s Corporation reported fourth quarter diluted earnings per share of $1.66 compared with $1.81 for the fourth quarter of 2011. Net income for the fourth quarter was $378 million compared with $455 million a year ago. For the year, net income was $1 billion ($4.17 per diluted share) compared with $1.2 billion ($4.30 per diluted share) for fiscal 2011.

    Total sales for the quarter were $6.3 billion, an increase of 5.4% over sales of $6 billion for the same period last year. Same-store sales for the quarter were up 1.9%.

  • Lane Bryant to open at two NRDC power centers

    Purchase, N.Y. -- National Realty & Development Corp. said Tuesday that Lane Bryant will open two new locations within its portfolio, Hadley Center in South Plainfield, N.J., and Northampton Crossings in Easton, Pa.

    The plus-size retailer will open a 5,000-sq.-ft. store in each location. Both are slated to open in the spring.

    Hadley Center is a 542,000-sq.-ft. power center anchored by Target, Kohl’s Department Store, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Regal Cinemas and Marshalls Megastore.

  • Kohl's to deploy integrated solutions from Oracle Retail

    Redwood Shores, Calif. -- Kohl’s Department Stores has selected Oracle Retail Merchandising, Planning and Supply Chain solutions to seamlessly integrate core retail operations across the company’s 1,146 stores nationwide. The solutions will provide Kohl’s with an integrated, scalable retail suite of applications to streamline merchandising and planning while enabling its multi-channel growth strategy.
