  • Kohl’s taps Peter Som as fourth designer to work on DesigNation collection

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s is adding designer Peter Som to its DesigNation limited-edition collection roster. Some is the fourth designer to join the team.

    As part of the Kohl’s DesigNation concept featuring premier designer fashions based on international inspiration, the collection will draw creative influence from Som’s recent trip to St. Barths. The collection features apparel for women and will be available exclusively at Kohl’s and Kohls.com beginning spring 2014.

  • Old Navy, GNC opening in Middletown, N.Y.

    Purchase, N.Y. — National Realty & Development Corp. www.nrdc.com has announced that Old Navy and GNC will open stores at Orange Plaza, an 815,000-sq.-ft. power center in Middletown, N.Y. Old Navy has taken 13,500 sq. ft. GNC will occupy 1,500 sq. ft.

    Wal-Mart Supercenter, The Home Depot, Kohl’s Department Store, Burlington Coat Factory, Marshalls, Bed Bath & Beyond and Staples anchor the center, which draws from a 12-mile radius with a population of 157,000.
     

     

  • Kohl’s supports women's health with new athletic collection

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s has unveiled a line of athletic apparel and accessories called Tek Gear, from the Kohl’s Cares cause merchandise program, and 100% of the net profit will go to support the fight against breast cancer.

  • Kohl's Q2 profit dips 4%, meets Street

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. -- Kohl’s Corp. reported that profit for the quarter ended Aug. 3 fell 4% to $231 million, compared with $240 million in the year-ago period. Results were impacted by rising costs, but still met Wall Street expectations.

    Sales edged up 2% to $4.29 billion from $4.21 billion in the period, and matched analysts’ expectations. Same-store sales rose 0.9%, missing Wall Street’s estimated 1.1% rise.

  • Kohl’s makes donation to Milwaukee Art Museum

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s Department Stores has donated $2 million throughout a three-year period to the Milwaukee Art Museum to continue the Kohl’s Art Generation program, a youth art education initiative.

  • Kohl’s hit with class-action suit

    Menomonee Falls, Wis. – Law firm Levi & Korsinsky has commenced a class-action lawsuit against Kohl’s Corporation in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The suit has been filed on behalf of investors who purchased Kohl's commons stock during the period between February 26, 2009 and September 13, 2011.

  • Changing of the guard for Sports Authority’s merchandising leadership

    ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Sports Authority has named Stephen Binkley as the company’s new CMO. He replaces EVP, chief merchant and CMO Greg Waters, who has decided to resign his position to pursue personal interests after 24 years at the company. 

    During his tenure at Sports Authority, Waters held several leadership roles, including EVP, marketing and merchandising, COO and SVP of store operations.

  • Kohl’s woos BTS shoppers with sweepstakes

    MENOMONEE FALLS, Wis. — Kohl’s is planning to hold a nationwide Win Great Things sweepstakes from Sunday, August 4 through Monday, September 2 — the final weeks before the school year starts for many students.
