Rockville, Md. — Federal Realty Investment Trust has acquired controlling interests in two shopping centers in Affluent Monmouth County, N.J., for $161 million. Both the Grove at Shrewsbury and Brook 35 are located on Route 35 and serve the emerging bedroom and second home communities of Shrewsbury, Red Bank, Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver, and Middletown. The acquisition was made with a combination of downREIT units, cash and the assumption of $68 million of fixed rate debt secured by the properties.

Tumi Holdings has named Joseph R. Gromek as chairman of the company’s board of directors. Gromek, who joined the board in April 2012, succeeds Richard P. Hanson, who has stepped down as chairman.

Until his retirement in February 2012, Gromek served as president and CEO of the Warnaco Group since April 2003, and as a member of the company’s board. From 1996 to 2002, Gromek served as president and CEO of Brooks Brothers. During the past 25 years, Gromek has also held senior management positions with Saks Fifth Avenue, Limited Brands and Ann Taylor Stores.

Johor, Malaysia — Genting Simon, a joint venture between Genting Group and Simon Property Group, has announced the opening of the second phase of Johor Premium Outlets in Johor, Malaysia.

The expansion has added 40 new stores and 100,000 sq. ft. to the center, bringing the store total to 120.

Greensboro, N.C. — Tanger Outlets National Harbor will celebrate its grand opening on Nov. 22. The outlet store line up includes: White House | Black Market, Calvin Klein, Gap, Halston Heritage, American Eagle Outfitters, Tommy Hilfiger, Banana Republic, Theory, Elie Tahari, Brooks Brothers, Aeropostale, Coach, Hugo Boss, J. Brooklyn, N.Y. -- Lifestyle/Trimco/Viaggio, the Brooklyn, N.Y.-based manufacturer of mannequins, forms, specialty fixtures, fabric applications, seasonal trim and holiday décor, has merged with Almax, the world-renowned mannequin company based in Italy.
 
The new company, Global Visual Group, will make its debut at A.R.E.’s Retail Design Collective, which will be in New York City, December 4-6, 2013.   

New York -- Brooks Brothers today announced that Mary Pytko has joined the company as its new executive VP of global human resources.

Pytko has held leadership roles at companies including American Express and Lord & Taylor. Most recently she was senior VP, human resources at the Thomson Reuters Corporation.
