  • Designer Jean-Michel Cazabat opens first U.S. retail store

    New York City -- Footwear designer Jean-Michel Cazabat said he will open his first U.S. store on Oct. 8 in New York City's West Village.

  • Gold’s Gym Express to debut in Victoria, Texas

    Houston -- Baker Katz, an X Team International partner and full-service commercial real estate brokerage firm, announced that it has completed a lease for the first Gold’s Gym Express in Victoria, Texas.

    Located in the Northcross Shopping Center, Gold’s Gym Express is occupying 18,710 sq. ft. of the former H-E-B Grocery space, and joins Ashley’s Furniture HomeStore, Jason’s Deli, Dollar Tree and GameStop.

  • Yankee Candle expanding into Canada

    South Deerfield, Mass. -- The Yankee Candle Co. has opened its first company-owned retail stores in Canada. Yankee Candle will open five stores in the greater Toronto area before Sept. 16. The first three locations in Pickering, St. Catharine's and Hamilton, Ontario, are now open. In the coming weeks, the company will open stores in Barre and Kitchener, Ontario.

  • Burlington Coat Factory to open small-format store in Charlotte

    Charlotte, N.C. -- X Team International, an international alliance of retail real estate advisors, said that Charlotte, N.C.-based partner The Chambers Group has completed a lease for the first small-format Burlington Coat Factory store in Charlotte.

    Scheduled to open Oct. 1 at Woodlawn Marketplace, the smaller format store will be roughly 48,000 sq. ft. and joins T.J. Maxx and Family Dollar.
     

  • CBL selects Brandon Agency for media planning, buying

    Myrtle Beach. Fla. -- CBL & Associates Properties recently selected The Brandon Agency to provide media planning and buying services for 75 malls and shopping centers in 25 states.

    The scope of services the agency will provide CBL includes guerilla advertising, Facebook pay-per-click, media planning, media buying, and media placement in print, broadcast, cable, radio and internet media outlets.
     

  • HomeGoods to open new store in Kohls Plaza

    New Milford, Conn. -- Westport, Conn.-based Charter Realty & Development Corp. said it has arranged a lease for 28,000 sq. ft. for a HomeGoods store in the Kohls Plaza, located in New Milford, Conn.

    HomeGoods will be a part of Litchfield Crossings, which is a new, 282,000-sq.-ft. development that is being built by Scalzo Realty.

  • Ivanka Trump Collection to open in Soho

    New York City — Prudential Douglas Elliman's Retail Group announced that the Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry Collection, a Madison Avenue destination, has moved to Soho at 109 Mercer Street, between Prince and Spring Streets. The store will feature a full collection including jewelry, footwear, handbags and apparel. 

    Ivanka Trump has leased 3,100 sq. ft. of multi-level space on one of downtown's most fashionable streets in Soho, surrounded by Balenciaga, YSL, Agent Provocateur, Hugo Boss and 3.1 Phillip Lim.

  • Disney dreams big

    GLENDALE, Calif. — Ahead of the upcoming Licensing International Expo in Las Vegas, Disney Consumer Products chairman Andy Mooney showcased the companies plans to expand its retail presence. According to Mooney, who was speaking at a media presentation, sales of Disney-branded merchandise have grown at a compounded rate of 12% per annum over the last 10 years.
