Pottery Barn to Test New Concept

9/14/2007

New York City, Pottery Barn Kids will test a new retail concept, Threads, in October, opening an initial store in Bellevue, Wash., according to The Wall Street Journal. A second location is scheduled to open in New York City (at 76th Street and 2nd Avenue) in November, the report said.

The new concept will be devoted to clothing and accessories for infants and toddlers. The Williams-Sonoma unit is hoping to tap into the $12.9 billion market for infant apparel as increased competition and economic factors are challenging its core business.
