  • Survey: Smaller retailers not optimized for mobile commerce

    New York -- Less than 30% of middle-market retailers have websites optimized for mobile purchases, according to a national survey of C-suite executives by GE Capital. Currently, middle market retailers conduct 16% of their transactions online and about half expect the proportion of online transactions to increase in the next 12 months. (GE identifies middle-market retailers as ranging from $10 million to $1 billion in annual sales).

  • Macy’s launches omnichannel wedding promotion

    New York – Macy’s is launching an online wedding promotion in partnership with TV host and fashion consultant Clinton Kelly. Known as “Weddings with Clinton Kelly,” the promotion will include an online wedding hub with a collection of articles and videos to help build the perfect registry, as well as advice from Kelly.

  • Toys ‘R’ Us launches omnichannel promo

    Wayne, N.J. – Toys “R” Us is launching an omnichannel promotion called “C’mon Let’s Play” in partnership with advertising agency The Escape Pod and 'Action Movie Kid' YouTube channel creator Daniel Hashimoto. The campaign includes TV ads and in-cinema advertising.

  • ARC Group names marketing head

    Lafayette, La. - ARC Group Inc., owner, operator and franchisor of the Dick's Wings & Grill concept, has named Chris Perrella has joined the company as its director of marketing.

  • Toys'R'Us rolls out #LetsPlay campaign

    Toys"R"Us is unveiling a new hashtag — #LetsPlay — for its latest ad campaign, which features traditional television spots. The retailer will also be leveraging Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and The Toys"R"Us YouTube Channel to share 'C'mon, Let's Play' content, including commercial clips, behind-the-scenes photos and video from the campaign shoot.

    The strategy includes a cross-platform presence on desktop, mobile and tablet with premier placements on Hulu and Hulu Plus.

  • Under Armour taps Cardinals cornerback as ambassador

    Under Armour has signed a multi-year partnership with Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson. As brand ambassador, Peterson will wear Under Armour cleats and clothes on the field and during training.
     

  • Whole Foods to expand loyalty, marketing, home delivery

    Austin, Texas – Whole Foods plans to expand its loyalty, marketing and home delivery programs. In a conference call with investors, co-CEO Walter Robb said Whole Foods will launch its first national marketing campaign in fall 2014, with a focus on how the retailer is better and different than its competitors.

  • Old Navy launches YouTube promo

    New York – Old Navy is launching a back-to-school promotion on the YouTube video platform. The retailer is releasing a video of a new back-to-school anthem, “Unlimited,” featuring cameos by stars of the youth multichannel network AwesomenessTV.
