  • Study: More than half of Americans struggle to afford the basics

    New York City -- A study released Thursday by WSL/Strategic Retail found that 52% of Americans are struggling to afford the necessities, and for many even that is a stretch.

    The “How America Shops MegaTrends report, Moving On 2012,” revealed among its significant findings that the youth market, 18-34 year olds, has the highest percent of those who do not have enough money to cover their basic needs, with close to a quarter (24%) in financial turmoil.

    Dallas -- SRS Real Estate Partners said that Glori Rodriguez has been named a senior marketing coordinator in the South Florida office.

    Rodriguez will be responsible for executing the national and local marketing strategies for the South Florida office including broker transaction support, identity building, and lead generation initiatives.

    Prior to SRS, she was a business development coordinator at Bureau Veritas N.A.

  • Meijer names winners of holiday contest

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two Feeding America food banks and a Macomb County, Mich., resident were named winners of Meijer's "Get Gifted" online holiday contest.

    The retailer said it donated $10,000 to Gleaners Community Food Bank and Forgotten Harvest last week and named Vickie Spokes its grand prize winner of $10,000 in Meijer gift cards.
