  • Doritos begins 'bold' product launch

    New product introductions aren’t what they used to be as evidenced by Doritos “Bold Flavor Experiment” involving mysterious variants of the spicy chips.

    The Frito-Lay division of PepsiCo this week is introducing three new flavors of the Doritos Jacked brand to the snack food but not telling shoppers what they are called. The unconventional approach to generating trial also involves a unique contest element to encourage shoppers to digitally engage with the brand.

  • Domino’s accepts Google Wallet payments

    Ann Arbor, Mich. - Domino's Pizza is integrating Google Wallet with its Android ordering app. Domino's customers who have an Android device can now pay for their online orders using Google's digital wallet.

    Domino's customers who place an online order of $10 or more using the Android ordering app and pay by selecting the "Buy with Google" button at checkout will receive a free order of Domino's new specialty chicken, now through June 15.

  • CVS marketing chief steps down

    Rob Price, SVP marketing and advertising and chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy, has left the company to take a new role, the retailer said in a statement sent to sister publication Drug Store News.    

    “Rob led the retail marketing team during a period of tremendous growth and strong financial performance and brought numerous positive changes to the business. We thank Rob for his important contributions and wish him the best of luck in the next phase of his career,” the company stated.

  • CVS/pharmacy announces departure of CMO

    Woonsocket, R.I. — Rob Price, senior VP marketing and advertising and chief marketing officer for CVS/pharmacy, has left the company to pursue a new role.

  • Tina Fey tapped as skincare spokesperson for Garnier

    Garnier USA, a subsidiary of L'Oréal USA, has selected Tina Fey as the new spokesperson for Garnier Skincare. Fey, who has been the face of Garnier Nutrisse hair color since 2011, is featured in the brand’s new advertising campaign, which launched this month.

    Fey's endorsement spans the entire Garnier Ultra-Lift skincare line, including moisturizers, serums and eye products. The campaign will focus on a line of new, standout anti-aging products, including Ultra-Lift Transformer and Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Firming Night Cream.

  • Office Depot wins Internet advertising award

    Boca Raton, Fla. – Office Depot has won an Internet Advertising Competition Award (IAC) for “Best Retail Social Media Campaign” from the Web Marketing Association. The award recognizes Office Depot’s digital campaign supporting back-to-school with Office Depot’s “#Together Against Bullying” collaboration with the band One Direction.

  • Study: Millennials show brand loyalty

    New York – Despite their reputation as being jaded by branding efforts, a majority of Millennials consider themselves brand-loyal. According to a new survey of Millennial consumers from marketing data provider Adroit Digital, 64% of Millennials are more brand-loyal or as brand-loyal as their parents, with 24% considering themselves to be more brand-loyal than their parents.

  • ShopSavvy promises greater personalization with iBeacon

    Increased personalization is at the root of the latest upgrade to ShopSavvy’s mobile shopping platform allowing users greater targeting of in-store contextual ads.

    ShopSavvy, the world’s largest mobile shopping platform, said its AdOns advertising network was enhanced to support iBeacon integration allowing greater personalization. Apple’s iBeacon technology uses Bluetooth and location-based services to ping nearby smart phones with advertisements, coupons, or messages. The technology is available on both the Apple, and Android operating system.
