  • P&G to sponsor Hispanic trends event

    MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Hispanicize 2013, the annual Latino trends event, has announced Procter & Gamble as the official presenting sponsor for this year's event taking place in Miami Beach from April 9 to 13. This is P&G's first year as the presenting sponsor of the Hispanicize event.

  • MC Sports to open at Ohio Valley Mall

    St. Clairsville, Ohio -- Youngstown, Ohio-based Cafaro Co. said Wednesday that MC Sports will debut in the area with a new store at Cafaro’s Ohio Valley Mall, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, in July.

    The new store will be located next to Sears, occupying nearly 23,000 sq. ft. of retail space.

    First it was RadioSchack and now Target has ended another electronics initiative with Best Buy.

    Target and Best Buy confirmed earlier this week that they agreed to end a partnership begun last August that involved Target offering Best Buy’s Geek Squad services at 29 stores in Minneapolis and Denver.   • A Whole Foods greenhouse grows in Brooklyn

    NEW YORK -- Whole Foods Market has partnered with Gotham Greens to build the nation’s first commercial- scale greenhouse farm integrated within a supermarket. The 20,000-sq.-ft. greenhouse, which is currently under construction on the roof of the forthcoming Whole Foods Market store in Gowanus, Brooklyn, is scheduled to open in late 2013.

  • Fast-casual dining: The BIG Picture

    In the second installment of a case study series, CSA Online continued to offer an insider’s look at the conception and initial rollout of the southern Calif.-based fast-casual concept PizzaRev. Likened to “the Chipotle of pizza,” this innovative chain lets customers choose from an artisanal array of toppings to craft their own pizzas. A test kitchen in Northridge, Calif., was launched in April 2012 and three additional locations soon followed.

  • Newell Rubbermaid to open design center in Michigan

    ATLANTA — Newell Rubbermaid announced plans to open a new design center by early 2014 in Kalamazoo, Mich. This will enable Newell Rubbermaid to add depth in new design specialties, join a strong local presence of design-led companies including Herman Miller , Steelcase, Whirlpool, Stryker and Wolverine, as well as participate in a growing educational community that includes Western Michigan University.

As part of this collaboration, the Babies"R"Us Registry is now available on WhatToExpect.com. Additionally, the retailer plans to feature content from WhatToExpect.com through various Babies"R"Us channels.
