  • Macy’s wins preliminary injunction against Martha Stewart

    New York -- Macy's on Friday won a preliminary injunction against Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia that would prevent it from selling some of its products at the chain.

    Macy's Inc. sued Martha Stewart Living in January after J.C. Penney acquired a 16.6% stake in Martha Stewart Living and announced plans in December to open Martha Stewart mini-shops beginning next year. Macy’s said that it had exclusive rights to certain categories of the Martha Stewart brand until 2018.

  • Nordstrom, TopShop to launch joint-venture pilot in 14 Nordstrom stores

    Seattle -- Nordstrom and British fashion brand TopShop said Thursday they have formed a partnership to launch TopShop and TopMan in-store departments in 14 Nordstrom stores, as well as on Nordstrom.com beginning Sept. 10.   

    The joint venture makes Nordstrom the only large U.S. retailer to sell a broad assortment of the British fashion brands' merchandise in-store and online.

    TopShop and TopMan have flagship stores in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and Los Angeles (opening spring 2013).

    NEW YORK — Macy’s has partnered with celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson for an exclusive cookware collaboration with celebrity chef and Macy’s Culinary Council member, Marcus Samuelsson. The “Marcus Samuelsson American Table for Belgique” collection will launch in September 2012, exclusively at Macy’s and on Macys.com.

  • In case you missed it, Target shows its baby bump

    A partnership between New York designer Liz Lange and Target has contributed to a transformation of the maternity wear market over the past decade, according to Target’s hometown newspaper the Star Tribune.

    A recent article on the partnership and its success quoted Lange and even got SVP Trish Adams to hold still for a photo shoot at a downtown Minneapolis store.
