  • Toys ‘R’ Us taps beauty company vet to head up HR

    Wayne, N.J. – Toys “R” Us has put an executive from L’Oreal in charge of its human resources.

    The toy giant appointed Tim Grace as executive VP, global chief talent officer, effective Sept. 14.

    Grace will oversee all global human resources functions, including organizational design, talent acquisition, succession planning, learning, change management and labor and employee relations, as well as compensation and benefits.

  • Lane Bryant stands up for fashion equality

    Lane Bryant is taking its campaign to make women of all shapes and sizes feel beautiful across channels this fall.

    The retail chain catering to women sizes 14 to 28 is launching a new marketing campaign with the tagline "Plus is Equal." The creative for the campaign was shot by renowned fashion photographer Cass Bird and will run in Vogue, Glamour, Refinery29 and PopSugar, and will be featured on the E! Network and the 67th Emmy Awards.

    Mooresville, N.C. - Lowe's Companies Inc. has named Jocelyn Wong senior VP and general merchandising manager for the company's seasonal product business area, effective Oct. 12.

    Wong joins Lowe's from Family Dollar, where she served as senior VP, chief marketing officer since 2012.

    Toys“R”Us has looked to a Loreal veteran to take over its human resources division.

    The retailer announced that it has named Tim Grace as executive vice president, global chief talent officer, effective immediately. In this role, the company says Grace will oversee all global human resources functions, including organizational design, talent acquisition, succession planning, learning, change management and labor and employee relations, as well as compensation and benefits. He will report to Dave Brandon, Chairman and CEO, Toys“R”Us, Inc.

    Kohl’s is bringing the fashions of London to its stores with its latest designer collaboration.

    The retailer has teamed up with designer Thakoon on a fashion collection now available at Kohl’s stores nationwide and Kohls.com called Thakoon for DesigNation. The one-of-a-kind, limited-edition, limited-time collection features Thakoon Panichgul’s signature style inspired by one of his favorite cities, London.

    Corte Madera, Calif. – Restoration Hardware Holdings Inc., which is set to launch two businesses in its third quarter, had generally rewarding second quarter of fiscal 2015.

    Net income rose 9% to $29.93 million from $27.25 million the same period a year earlier, with costs and expenses not growing at the same rate as sales.
