Best Buy hosts late-summer tech extravaganza

Best Buy is running TechFest through Aug. 26.

Shoppers searching for back-to-school deals on technology products have a limited-time opportunity at Best Buy Co. Inc.

The consumer electronics giant is offering TechFest, a sales blowout featuring all things tech running through Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024. In an email to Chain Store Age, Best Buy said the event provides shoppers with offers on popular items across categories including TVs, laptops and headphones.

Best Buy is also providing a "spend and get" offer for all members of the My Best Buy membership program. Members who spend $250 will get $25 to spend on a future purchase.

Other special seasonal promotions Best Buy has offered this year include a “Black Friday in July” event it hosted during July 2024 to compete with Amazon Prime Day. And while it was not promoted as a spring event, the retailer provided deals exclusively for members of its My Best Buy Plus and My Best Buy Total loyalty programs in March 2024.

Best Buy is running its latest promotion as signals indicate consumers are willing to spend on electronics products and are also interested in a good deal. According to recent data released by the U.S. Census Bureau, sales at electronics and appliance stores rose 1.6% in July.

Meanwhile, Signifyd data indicates that average applied online discount in the electronics category was 12% during July.

Based in Minneapolis, Best Buy Co. Inc. operates more than 1,000 retail stores in North America as well as an e-commerce site and mobile app.
