  • CBL acquires Dakota Square Mall

    Minot, N.D. -- Chattanooga, Tenn.-based CBL & Associates Properties announced it has acquired Dakota Square Mall in Minot, N.D.

    CBL acquired the property from the Lightstone Group.

  • River Drive Construction completes Sea Girt Square redevelopment

    Elmwood Park, N.J. -- River Drive Construction Co. said it has completed the re-development of the 44,000-sq.-ft. Sea Girt Square retail center, on behalf of Gottesman Real Estate Partners.

    River Drive served as construction manager for the project, which was completed in three stages to allow several existing tenants to remain in place. River Drive re-built the structure, raised the ceiling heights, re-clad all storefronts with floor-to-ceiling glass and installed entirely new mechanical systems. The project is located in Wall Township, N.J.

  • Save-A-Lot opens in Atlantic City

    St. Louis -- Discount grocer Save-A-Lot, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Supervalu, opened its first store in Atlantic City, N.J., on May 17, becoming the first full-service grocery store within a 21-mile radius of the city.

  • Subway plans 1,200 stores for 2012, making deals at RECon

    Milford, Conn. -- Sandwich mega-chain Subway said Friday that it has set 2012 development goals of 1,200 North American locations and, toward that end, said a large contingent of company representatives will be in attendance at the International Council of Shopping Centers’ RECon event in Las Vegas, May 20-23.

  • Potomac Mills to expand footprint

    Woodbridge, Va. -- Indianapolis-based The Mills, a Simon Property Group company, said that Potomac Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in Virginia, will soon expand its footprint with the addition of an exterior transformation and two new restaurants: The Cheesecake Factory and Bobby’s Burger Palace.

    The project also includes the relocation of Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and the introduction of Buybuy Baby and Christmas Tree Shops.

  • Boscov’s to open at two GGP malls

    Chicago -- General Growth Properties announced Thursday that Boscov’s department stores will open at White Marsh Mall, in Baltimore, and at Woodbridge Center, in Woodbridge, N.J.

    The 197,000-sq.-ft. Baltimore store is projected to open November 2012, and the 180,000-sq.-ft. Woodbridge Center store is slated to open August 2013

  • New stores on tap for Miracle Mile Shops

    Las Vegas -- Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino said that five new stores will open at the center, and several tenants will unveil newly renovated spaces.

    Garrett Popcorn will open this September in its first Las Vegas location; Jamba Juice has already opened its Miracle Mile Shops outlet, and blow-dry bar Dollheads will open this June. In November, GRATiAE will open a skin care products store.

  • Weis Markets breaks ground on what will be its first LEED-certified store

    Sunbury, Pa.  -- Weis Markets on Thursday announced it has begun the construction of an environmentally innovative 65,000-sq.-ft. superstore in Fogelsville, Pa.

    When construction is completed, the store is expected to achieve U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED certification for measurably reducing or mitigating its environmental impact for sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, material selection and indoor environmental quality.
