rue21 opens 600th store

Warrendale, Pa. Rue21 said Thursday it has opened its 600th store, located in North Attleboro, Mass.

The specialty apparel retailer also announced it has opened its 400th etc! format rue21 store in Saugus, Mass. The format was introduced four years ago to highlight expanded accessory categories and has been incorporated into all new rue21 stores and remodels, according to the retailer.

Bob Fisch, rue21 president and CEO, said the company is “on target to open 100 new stores and convert 30 existing stores to the etc! format in 2010. These achievements will continue to drive total sales and profit growth for rue.”
