Pinterest is teaming up with VTEX.
Pinterest is opening its platform to users of a third-party social commerce solution.
The visual social media platform, which has been integrated with Shopify since 2020, is now partnering with social commerce solution provider VTEX. Through this new collaboration, retailers and brands using VTEX can seamlessly integrate their product catalogs, create pins, and run shopping campaigns on Pinterest.
The Pinterest app for VTEX allows retailers and direct-to-consumer brands to connect their VTEX IO stores to Pinterest. The app enables them to onboard, authenticate, upload a product catalog, and activate server-to-server conversion tracking with the Pinterest API for conversions).
By uploading product catalogs, product pins are automatically created, making VTEX sellers’ products visible to potential customers on Pinterest. The app is available on a subscription basis, and VTEX users such as Whirlpool, Blaisten, and Easy are among the early testers of the partnership.
Pinterest has been actively adding a variety of social commerce capabilities to its platform during the past several years, through internally developed features as well as third-party partnerships, such as its “shopabble print magazine” integration with the currently available June issue of Real Simple magazine.
"With over half a billion monthly active users, Pinterest is bringing more relevant products that our users love onto its platform," said Matt Hogle, VP of global sales organization at Pinterest. "Our partnership with VTEX is another way for large brands and regional customers to connect with our users who are seeking inspiration and shopping in a positive and inspiring place online."
"At VTEX, we empower large global enterprise brands to maintain agility and deliver seamless shopping experiences from anywhere", said Santiago Naranjo, chief revenue officer at VTEX. "With our latest social commerce partnership, VTEX plays a pivotal role in translating the inspiration discovered on Pinterest's platform into authentic consumer connections for many of the world's most popular brands powering their commerce experience. This will cultivate many meaningful engagements that reinvigorate organic growth and foster a vibrant community as we continue to create the best unified commerce experience."
Headquartered in San Francisco, Pinterest launched in 2010 and has over half a billion monthly active users worldwide.
