    NEW YORK — Macy's announced that it has partnered with Latina magazine and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with special events and once-in-a-lifetime internship opportunities.

  • Jewel-Osco event offers a taste of Hispanic heritage

    ITASCA, Ill. — Supervalu's Jewel-Osco chain announced that it will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with its fourth annual VIP reception to honor the culture and significant achievements of the Hispanic community. The signature event, "Sabor de la Herencia Hispana," will be held Sept. 14, at the National Museum of Mexican Art, 1852 W. 19th Street, Chicago, from 6 to 9 p.m.  

  • Target offers lesson in loyalty to college kids

    Some priceless publicity to cement Target’s image as the cool place to shop came courtesy of The New York Times this week. The newspaper reported on and featured a video on its website of the retailer’s back-to-college efforts, which included chartering busses to ferry thousands of kids to its stores at 66 campuses nationwide.

  • Jones Group sees opportunity for Nine West licensing

    NEW YORK — The Jones Group announced that Marchon Eyewear will be exclusive provider of ophthalmic eyewear frames and prescription-ready sunglasses for distribution under the Nine West brand.  

    Under the agreement, the Nine West ophthalmic eyewear collection will be marketed and sold globally in upscale optical chains and optical specialty retailers and by individual eye care professionals beginning in early January 2012, The Jones Group reported.  

  • Charming Shoppe’s Lane Bryant rolls out personalized search technology

    Bensalem, Pa. -- Charming Shoppes’s plus-size Lane Bryant division announced the launch of Fashion Genius, a new technology that provides personalized product recommendation services. According to the retailer, the technology offers one-of-a-kind fit and style solution guides through a simple survey that combines a woman’s curves, fit issues and signature styles to individual merchandise items in just three minutes and with no measurements required.

  • GameStop plays up loyalty rewards program

    GRAPEVINE, Texas — GameStop announced that customers can get double the PowerUp Rewards points just by reserving and paying in full on select games by Oct. 16, 2011. Participating games include:
