    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Sears may not be the first name that springs to mind when one thinks of retailers that leverage technology to reach out to digital-savvy consumers, but it's demonstrating that it can stay current with the latest digital trends. 

  • AT&T Announces 200-plus retail jobs in South Florida

    Miami — AT&T is looking to fill nearly 235 retail openings in South Florida before the end of October.

    More than half of the openings are newly created jobs for retail sales consultants and retail sales managers from Key West to Vero Beach. More than 40 of the new positions will staff two new AT&T www.att.com stores slated to open in Miami this October.

  • Compare Foods implements Swift Shopper app

    New York -- Supermarket operator Compare Foods announced that it begun the implementation of the Swift Shopper app created by ezCommerce Solutions. The app, designed for those retailers hesitant to invest in mobile point-of-sale, costs retailers nothing and doesn’t require any hardware, training or integration to implement. Customers download it to their phone/tablet for free (or upgrade for the low cost of $1.99) and it enables them to scan any barcode as they shop.  

    It works in every store where cashiers have dual-line handheld scanners.

  • Korean home shopping retailer selects IBM mobile, analytics solutions

    Seoul, South Korea – South Korean home shopping retailer NS Shopping is deploying mobile and analytics solutions from IBM to improve its omni-channel customer experience and relationship management.

    NS Shopping currently sells its merchandise via television, catalogues and online, and will use IBM Smarter Commerce technology to integrate mobile and social channels into its retail environment.

    GRAPEVINE, Texas — As retailers large and small vie for foot traffic during the highly competitive back-to-school season, GameStop is focusing its efforts on the segment of its market that is on summer vacation.

    The multichannel video game retailer has launched a five-week Summer Playcation promotion the offers gamers deals now through Aug. 18 in all U.S. GameStop locations.
