  • Kmart offers pay-in-store option for online purchases

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Kmart is offering members of its Shop Your Way loyalty program the option to reserve items online, pay at their local Kmart store using their cash, check, debit, loyalty points, credit or gift card, and pick up the item onsite if available. Called Pay in Store, the program launches nationally this month and allows online shoppers to select the Pay in Store option and reserve an item for 48 hours.

  • Sports Authority renews at Miami’s Kendallgate

    New York -- Berkowitz Development Group has inked a lease renewal with Sports Authority for 43,000-sq. ft. at Kendallgate Shopping Center in Miami.

    As part of a nationwide effort, the retailer will redesign the store’s interior and incorporate updated exterior signage.

    British fashion retailer Oasis lets the permanent architecture do the talking at its store in Leeds, U.K. Designed as a model for international expansion, the 2, 238-sq.-ft. space was developed for ease of installation, flexibility and efficient detailing. The walls and ceiling were constructed away from the structural shell giving a fun stage-set feel while allowing elements to become standardized with less site-specific variables. The interior has the aesthetic of a Georgian house executed in a contemporary manner. (Oasis was designed by Dalziel+Pow, London.)

    Fort Worth, Texas - RadioShack Corp. on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss that was bigger than analysts expected. However, revenue beat expectations, with the first increase in same-store sales since 2010, and the chain announced it was bringing on consultants to help with its turnaround.

    Hoffman Estates, Ill. -- Sears is offering personalized digital coupons to members of its Shop Your Way loyalty program that are redeemable in-store, online and from a mobile device. Members can download the virtual coupons, tailored to their interests, style preferences and shopping habits, from the Internet or the Sears mobile app.

    Greensboro, N.C. -- Robert H. Ham, a provider of store fixtures and display items, announced that the company has changed its name and brand to Firefly Store Solutions.
     
    While Firefly Store Solutions has adopted a new corporate logo, the company’s staff and service remains unchanged.
