  • MicroStrategy releases new mobile offerings

    Las Vegas – The new MicroStrategy Analytics app for iPad allows users to get an optimized mobile view of their organizations’ analytical insights, while the MicroStrategy Analytics app enables users to connect to their analytics applications, and securely browse through project folders of grids, graphs, visual insights, visualizations and dashboards.

  • Study: Mobile payments account for 19.5% of global transactions

    Amsterdam, Netherlands -- Mobile payments accounted for 19.5% of all transactions worldwide in December 2013, a growth of 55% year-over-year, up from 12.6% the previous December. The third Adyen Mobile Payments Index, covering the period September to December 2013, also shows that mobile transaction volume in retail has risen by a third, up to 23%.

  • Dover Saddlery expects higher revenues in Q4

    Littleton, Mass. -- Preliminary unaudited revenues for Dover Saddlery during the fourth quarter of fiscal 2013 exceeded revenues in the fourth quarter of 2012 by 13.8%, increasing to approximately $30.3 million. Revenues from the retail channel increased 22.6% to approximately $13.1 million and revenues from the direct channel increased 7.8% to approximately $17.2 million.

  • Destination Maternity net income rise, sales drop in Q1

    Philadelphia – Destination Maternity reported improved net income but lower net sales during the first quarter of fiscal 2014 as compared to the same period a year earlier. Net income totaled $4.25 million, up 11% from $3.84 million the same period a year earlier.

  • Amazon’s big miss and modest outlook

    Amazon.com may have achieved record fourth-quarter sales of $25.6 billion, but its top line was well below what analysts expected and so were profits.

    The company’s sales increased 20% to $25.6 billion during the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared to $21.3 billion the prior year. Analysts had forecast sales of slightly more than $26 billion. Meanwhile, Amazon said it earned profits of $239 million, or 51 cents a share, well ahead of prior year figures of $97 million and 21 cents a share, but substantially below the 74 cents analysts were expecting.

    Research Triangle Park, N.C. -- ChannelAdvisor Corporation, a provider of cloud-based e-commerce solutions, is expanding its Webstores Amplifier with support for Bigcommerce, an e-commerce website platform that allows small and medium businesses to quickly set up online stores. The ChannelAdvisor Webstores Amplifier simplifies product creation, automatically synchronizes inventory and standardizes fulfillment across multiple online channels and retail websites for its customers.

  • Report: Poor tablet experience impacts purchase willingness

    New York – Almost eight-in-10 (77%) of consumers report that having a poor or unsatisfying experience while trying to use a website on their tablet will affect their willingness to purchase from that brand. Other tablet research from omni-channel commerce technology provider Useablenet shows that 70% of consumers say that the quality of photography and design of a tablet site influences their decision on whether to purchase
