  • Avenue 32 provides mobile design showcase

    London – Online luxury retailer Avenue 32 has launched a mobile and tablet strategy allowing designers to showcase their collections to the public without having to invest in their own online presence. Since its launch, mobile traffic has more than doubled and average transaction value has increased 270%.

    Working in partnership with Usablenet, Avenue 32 provides seamless and customized experiences for both mobile and tablet; the mobile site provides a task-based experience whereas the tablet site is focused around browsing and discovery.

  • Demandware acquires Mainstreet Commerce

    Burlington, Mass. – Demandware has acquired privately-held Mainstreet Commerce, a provider of cloud-based order management solutions. Demandware hopes the combination of its enterprise-class commerce platform and Mainstreet Commerce’s distributed order management solution will simplify order orchestration between online and in-store shopping processes; optimize store and Web inventory; and enable retailers to deliver a “buy anywhere, fulfill anywhere” consumer experience.

  • Capillary Technologies, Amex enter marketing agreement

    Mountain View, Calif. -- Capillary Technologies has entered a joint marketing agreement with American Express in which American Express will introduce Capillary’s Intelligent Customer Engagement solutions to select medium-sized retailers in the U.S. Capillary’s solutions enable merchants to engage with their customers across in-store, social media, e-mail, local and mobile channels, with a view to increasing shopper loyalty and fueling online and physical store sales.

    Chico's FAS is gearing up to launch its brand in Mexico through an exclusive franchise with El Puerto de Liverpool. The company’s expansion in Mexico will begin with a stand-alone boutique opening at Perisur Mall, Mexico City, in spring this year.

  • Gymboree deploys Oracle Commerce

    Redwood Shores, Calif. -- The Gymboree Corporation has selected Oracle Commerce to support its full range of international e-commerce sites for its Gymboree, Janie and Jack, and Crazy 8 brands.

    In addition to Oracle Commerce, Gymboree also intends to implement Oracle WebLogic Suite.

  • Deckers creates three senior positions

    Goleta, Calif. – Deckers Outdoor Corporation has created three new senior management positions Dave Powers, currently president, global direct-to-consumer (DTC), has been promoted to president of omni-channel, reporting to the CEO.
    In addition to continuing to oversee Deckers' domestic DTC operations, he will also oversee all wholesale, distributor, retail and e-commerce channels in Deckers' international regions. Deckers also promoted Constance X. Rishwain, president, UGG Australia to the additional role of group president fashion & lifestyle brands

  • eMeal adds online meal plan for Costco customers

    Issaquah, Wash. -- Online meal planning service eMeals has debuted a new Costco Classic Family Plan that delivers 14 Costco-focused dinner menus to a customer’s smartphone or computer inbox every two weeks. Designed to take full advantage of Costco promotions and volume packaging, each installment includes family-friendly entree and side-dish recipes, plus a complete grocery list for all 14 days that is organized by Costco aisle for speedy shopping.
