    The company has bolstered its leadership team, completed inventory clearance event to make way for holiday products and launched a new loyalty program called Rewards“R”Us.

  • Target extends mobile commerce with Like2Buy on Instagram, and Apple Pay

    New York -- Target Corp. is extending its mobile strategy with two new options. The retailer has adopted Like2Buy, a platform that enables the chain’s Instagram followers to easily buy products featured in photos from participating brands. Target also is integrating the software for Apple’s new mobile payments service, Apple Pay, into its mobile app.

    Duluth, Minn. -- Maurices, a subsidiary of the Ascena Retail Group, announced that Ali Wing has been named chief marketing officer, executive VP of digital commerce. Wing joins Maurices after 10 years as CEO and founder of giggle, a multichannel retailer, wholesaler and licenser of baby products.

  • Tilly’s woos impulse shoppers with mobile shopping solution

    Tilly’s, a leading specialty retailer in the action sports industry selling clothing, shoes, and accessories, has enlisted visual search platform Slyce to assist it in the creation of Tilly's Snap Shop.

    The service leverages Slyce visual search technology to enable users to access the retailer’s mobile website on their smartphones, snap photos of desired items within any of Tilly's seasonal collection catalogs and purchase the item directly at the moment of impulse.

    Warren, Mich. – Art Van Furniture is launching an omnichannel promotion in Detroit on Sept. 12 to celebrate the release of its 2014 fall catalog. Customers can take selfies or have a photo taken by celebrity photographer Nigel Barker on one of 55 sofas that will be placed outside the Art Van Furniture store on Woodward Avenue.
