    New York -- Applied Predictive Technologies announced that Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen will license APT's Test & Learn software to test business initiatives such as menu strategies, pricing, and capital investments.  
  • Friday Halloween spurred early holiday spending

    Atlanta -- This year, a Halloween that fell on Friday helped boost spending growth in October, according to the monthly SpendTrend report from First Data Corp. 
  • Target acquires shopping technology firm

    Minneapolis -- Promising an “Amazon-like experience” in its stores, Target Corp. has acquired a Pittsburgh technology firm that says its software platform brings "an Amazon-like shopping experience" to in-store customers.   Target and Powered Analytics co-founder Collin Otis have confirmed the deal but have not disclosed the terms. The firm will reported remain headquartered in Pittsburgh.  
  • Online retailers miss sales with irrelevant items

    London, U.K. -- Nearly three-quarters of online retailers (74%) miss out on sales by promoting irrelevant items to online shoppers. According to new research from OrderDynamics, as retailers prepare for the crucial holiday shopping season, many could be driving customers away by promoting irrelevant products, failing to build customer relationships through intelligent follow-up, and ignoring consumer preferences on end-to-end order tracking.  
  • Lowe’s provides omnichannel fulfillment with JDA-IBM solution

    Mooresville, N.C. –- Lowe’s Companies Inc. is among the first users of an omnichannel fulfillment solution that is being jointly developed by JDA Software Group Inc. and IBM. The new initiative from the two technology providers will combine JDA intelligent fulfillment and labor productivity solutions with IBM Commerce and order management technology.  
  • Study: Amazon doubles overall e-commerce same-store sales in Oct.

    Morrisville, N.C. --  Amazon.com’s same-store increase rate dropped from September to October 2013, but still more than doubled the same-store sales growth rate of overall e-commerce. According to data from cloud-based e-commerce solutions provider ChannelAdvisor, Amazon's October same-store sales came in at 32.4%, a decrease compared to August's 37.9%.
