  • Study: Product info prompts channel choice

    Chicago – We live in an age of information, and consumers are valuing access to product information more than ever. According to a new study of 1,000 brands and retailers from PowerReviews, more than half (57%) of online shoppers reported specifically seeking out websites with product reviews.

  • Belk promotes omnichannel head to CIO

    Charlotte, N.C. - Belk Inc. has named Scott Kessler as CIO, effective immediately. Kessler, who will report to John R. Belk, president and COO, has served as Belk’s senior VP of omnichannel solutions delivery since March 2014.
     
    Prior to that role, Kessler has more than 20 years of IT experience, nearly 10 years of which was with GSI Commerce Solutions where he was senior VP of products technology.

    New York -- Traditional preprint circulars continue to dominate many retailers’ promotional offerings but digital coupon momentum is accelerating, according to strong 2014 results by Coupons.com.

    Total revenue in the company’s fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2014 increased 14% to $60 million and full year revenue increased 32% to $221.8 million. Total digital coupon transactions in 2014 increased 23% to 1.6 billion.

  • Study: Men shopping for groceries more

    Seattle - Increasingly, men (who now compose 43% of primary shoppers) are shopping frequently for groceries and they now make just as many monthly grocery store visits as women. According to “Food Shopping in America 2014,” a study from MSLGroup and The Hartman Group, on average, U.S. grocery buyers shop three channels per week, including visits to grocery, specialty, mass merchandise, club, convenience, dollar and online stores.

  • HSN takes top spot in online customer experience ranking

    New York -- Home shopping giant HSN is number one in online customer experience, according to the E-tailing Group's 2014l Customer Experience Index. Overall results for the 8th year of the study came in at 72.06, rising above the mark of 71.06 in 2013’s analysis. On the 2014 index, eleven merchants hit the 80+ pinnacle, with HSN have the top score at 88, followed by Office Depot (84.75) and Dick’s Sporting Goods (83).
