  • Alco selects OrderMotion to power new e-commerce site

    BURLINGTON, Mass. — Alco Stores has selected OrderMotion's OMX platform to provide the back office technology to serve its new e-commerce site.

  • First Insight in agreement with The Limited to provide predictive analytic solution

    Pittsburgh -- First Insight, which provides predictive analytics generated from online consumer engagements, announced an agreement with The Limited. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    The First Insight solution uses online social engagement tools to gather real-time preference, pricing and sentiment data on new products. This information is filtered through First Insight’s predictive analytic models to determine which products present the greatest opportunity.

  • Iconix sees 5% boost in 2Q revenues

    NEW YORK — Iconix Brand Group reported that total revenue for the second quarter of 2012 was approximately $93.6 million, a 5% increase as compared with approximately $89.3 million in the second quarter of 2011.

  • The Limited turns to First Insight for predictive analytics

    Fashion retailer The Limited just got smarter about its purchasing and pricing decisions.

    First Insight, a provider of predictive analytics, announced that it had reached an agreement with The Limited to provide predictive analytics for selecting and pricing new products. The company did not elaborate further on the extent of its relationship with The Limited.

  • IBM Forecast: Women’s apparel sales to rise 9.2% in third quarter

    ARMONK, N.Y. — In-store sales of women’s clothing are expected to see a 9.2% increase in the third quarter of 2012 versus the year-ago period, according to a just-released IBM analytics-based forecast of U.S. retail sales data. The report predicts a 6.2% increase in sales of children’s clothing and a 5.2% increase in footwear. Men’s clothing, however, is forecast to lag, dropping 6.7%.

  • Albertsons selects Recall InfoLink for recall process management

    Boise, Idaho -- Albertsons LLC said it has teamed with Recall InfoLink to manage its recall process.

    The supermarket chain is launching the Recall InfoLink deployment in its pharmacy operation. Recall InfoLink improves efficiency by providing standardized messages, automated communications, inventory tracking and reports for compliance efforts.
