  • Beall's to use VeriFone payment system

    San Jose, Calif. -- Beall's has agreed to use VeriFone Systems' recently introduced MX 915 payment and media-enabled solutions system. Beall’s also will be complementing the MX 915 with VeriFone HQ, an estate management solution allowing the retailer to keep stores up to date with evolving payment and mobile solutions.

  • Epicor extends agreement as Ace Hardware’s only recommended POS provider

    Dublin, Calif. -- Epicor Software Corp., a global provider of business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, and Ace Hardware Corp., the largest retailer-owned hardware cooperative in the industry, announced an extended three-year agreement.

    Under the arrangement, Epicor serves as Ace Hardware’s only recommended point of sale solution provider, with Epicor Eagle business management software offered to Ace’s retailer owners.

  • TAGSYS RFID expands U.S. leadership

    KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. — TAGSYS RFID, a provider of item-level inventory management systems that streamline the supply chain, has expanded its U.S.-based organization in response to accelerating demand for smart inventory and loss management systems within the retail and luxury sectors.

    Tony Dublino has been named director of U.S. Sales for retail and apparel and Chad Tripp is the new director of field applications engineering for TAGSYS in the United States.

  • HSN working with ForeSee to measure mobile customer experience

    Ann Arbor, Mich. -- ForeSee, a provider of technology-driven customer experience analytics, announced that it is working with leading multichannel retailer HSN to measure and analyze the customer experience of its mobile-optimized site and mobile apps with ForeSee's new Mobile On-Exit technology.

  • The Pantry to remodel 160 stores annually

    New York -- The Pantry is giving its stores a makeover. The chain will remodel 10% of its store portfolio, or approximately 160 locations annual, until it completes the job, said Pantry president and CEO Dennis Hatchell on the company’s third-quarter sales call.

    The remodeling program will be store specific, according to Hatchell. He said the chain now has the scan data to execute a customized store set, and that it has a series of distinct demographic types.

  • Payment systems provider names EVP global markets

    NAPLES, Fla. — ACI Worldwide, an international provider of payment systems, has named Daniel Frate as EVP global markets and product management.

    Frate most recently served as EVP and head of products and pricing at PNC Bank. Building on ACI's product leadership position, Frate will be charged with delivering customer satisfaction through tight alignment of product roadmaps with market needs. He will be based out of the company's Naples, Florida headquarters.

  • Nebraska Furniture Mart selects Logility Voyager Solutions to support growth

    Atlanta -- Supply chain solution provider Logility said Tuesday that Omaha, Neb., home furnishings retailer Nebraska Furniture Mart has selected Logility Voyager Solutions to help the company plan for and manage its growth into new markets.

    To meet its goal of 75% growth by 2015, Nebraska Furniture Mart has embarked on an aggressive supply chain transformation project alongside a business improvement effort to streamline operations and accelerate the flow of information and products.
